all i have are mk1 rabbit stuff. i forgot to ask. is it a aftermarket sway bar?

It's not a sway bar, it's a stress bar and yes it is aftermarket. It goes in between the lower control arms to strengthen the subframe and imorove handling. It's very easy to install, just 2 bolts.
