I took the first step lastnight. Removing the black fabriclike hoodliner and the rubber trim off the front of the hood.

    Engine much more audible.
    Holy Milltek.

Been receiving a lot of PMs about the dipstick:

-- The dipstick is just the OEM dipstick... basically just scuff it and spray it with a spray paint of your choice. It can also be PlastiDipped.

Don't have any before shots, but I tucked that harness with three connectors on it. The way I re-routed it makes me iffy, but it'll suffice.

If you look closely, you can see the silver piece where there used to be a little metal bracket.

I was going to ask your opinion because doing this leaves no slack at all in the harness.

Looks good! I was going to work on doing this here soon, figure what better time to tear stuff like this apart than when she's in the shop and already torn apart... Doing my S6 light as well, since the front is already off...

Is there any stress on the harness during driving? That's the only issue I could see you having really... Mainly from engine movement, etc... I'll start ripping into mine tonight, I'll let you know what I figure out and come up with...

    Here's a before shot...

    Much, much better.

It's just resting underneath the throttle body... don't think there is enough movement to do any damage to the wires.

Started working on the back and right side yesterday... You're right, that harness really doesn't have much room... But we checked it out and everything seems ok, gonna hopefully finish it up tonight...

BTW, driving out car with no hood on is crazy loud, LOL!

What's a good way to clean the actual engine block? Lightly damp cloth with regular soap/water?

LOL. Doing work with the hood off.

** The piece on the upper left corner of the intake manifold... did you have to detach that to tuck that harness?

I had to take mine off the clip.

Brillo pad with degreaser when engine is cold of course.

Then youll want to grab a dremel, with wire brush, rough polish the gray area's and then use marine clean. Then you will want to get some sand paper and go to work on polishing that baby up

Haha see what I did there!

Well technically I was actually driving it with the hood off, no front bumper and no drivers side fender It's in the shop getting work done and all that stuff repainted, so it was all off...

If I remember correctly, we did have to detach it... There were a couple sets of hands in there working on moving stuff, LOL!
