Thread: STS808+jetta+GLI=????

  1. 05-13-2011 05:34 PM #1
well i finally got fed up at looking at Tony's 02 awp jetta ...

back in dec of 09 i installed a apr stage 3+ on our 02 jetta
then a few months later did rods and a AEB head on the 3+

it was ok but the APR software never really agreed with the AEB head so it just sat in front of the shop for a couple of months ... well i got fed up with it and whats the saying .....DO WORK SON !!!
so rolled it in and tore it down to get it ready for a full color change and body mods aka GLI crap lol ....

rolled the car in on 5/5/2011 to start the tear down

also took off the APR FMIC in favor of something bigger lol a little cartoonish

then started on the body work on the gli body parts, the car and de notch of the hood

and one hour later on the hood

then got all the body work done on the car rolled it into the booth for primer

and then primed the bumpers and side skirts

next came time for color on the bumpers this was on 5/7/2011

    and after clear

    and the next day 5/8/2011

took a break on sunday to paint some other stuff in the shop non vw related

but on monday it was on like donkey kong lol

    and installed the GLI decklid

then slipped it into the booth to tape it up ...

and now its finally time to sling some color on the car ..warning this color tends to look very different in all kinds of light ... 5/9/2011

and after a few coats of color on the car ... time for the shiny

    and the next day 5/10/2011

now its time for some color sanding and polish

and then rolled it out of the booth and started putting it back together

    and fitment with the intercooler

next was the interior .... suede+more GLI crap...

and the last of the painting i had to do ..5/11/2011
mirror caps door handles and front rub strip

    and yesterday ....

ohhhh and deff more to come

  2. 05-13-2011 05:36 PM #2
and ohh yea there will be more to come ....

comp turbo 5558 7 bladed billet beauty ..lol

hope you guys the build thread of part one ...lol engine bay is next on the chopping block .. prob be pulling the engine next week

    thanks for looking

here is a fastmotion vid of Chad painting the Jetta in HD, it's 14 minutes long!! over an hour of footage edited and sped up 225% for your pleasure..some good tunes, def worth watching to see the magic happen..don't mind my frantic insanity whilst recording...

there is a little over a minute at the end with no music, and i intentionally left the sound of spraying for 30+ seconds..but..i forgot to record the audio at normal speed..sooo..chipmunks lol

    enjoy!!
