What are the major changes you have to make to have a 2006 GTI accept a TSI engine? Is it manly wiring and a computer or is it more in depth. Also does the transmission from the FSI mate with the TSI. Only reason im looking into this is because i recently purchased my GTI and it has some major problems. Plastic broke off from some where and got into the pick up tube and starved the engine of oil. The cylinder head is ruined but surprisingly the rest of the engine is fine. I was looking into the price of cylinder heads and realizing for about 1000 more i could get a used TSI engine. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
      Thanks

Umm what? The price of a new engine would be over 5 grand all said and done.

the oil pump is also bad which is 1400 dollars the cylinder head is is 1300 plus internal parts for that which are about another grand so 3700 about for all that. a TSI engine on ebay used is about 2500 plus shipping so 2750

I would think that it would just be the harness and ecu. The trans should bolt right up.

Where do you think he will get a used one of those? Especially for a reasonable price? Very few wrecked Audi TTS's.

I'm sure your "thinking about it" will actually happen.
