    GO NUMBER 9!!!!

Ohh I didn't read everything, what happened to #8?
Few people understand the psychology of dealing with a highway traffic cop. A normal speeder will panic and immediately pull over to the side. This is wrong. It arouses contempt in the cop heart. Make the bastard chase you. He will follow.

What amazes me is how cheap you can get a 996 GT3 for... top 3 drivers car of all time?!

Great article, I am surprised by what's on there and what isn't.

No RX-7? No Corvette? No Cobra? No Supra? or 300Z?

If a CGT is 49 and McLaren F1 is 47, then I don't see how any of those cars you mentioned could be on the list....

    No RX-7? Rotaries are dumb
    No Corvette? Too American
    No Cobra? Engine too big
No Supra? Only good for roll racing
    or 300ZX? Too RWD
    There you go.

I refuse to believe there are 46 better "drivers cars" than the McLaren F1. The car seats the driver in the middle of the car for f#&ks sake!

Number 9 was the Miata(CL favorite, I know). The Focus RS was on the list. The Renault Clio and the Peugeot 205 GTI...heck the Integra Type R placed higher than the NSXs on the list...

    I don't know...

I got quite a kick out of this too.

But when I saw the GT-R leaps above the F1, I stopped caring. I REFUSE TO BELIEVE THAT!

Depending on your criteria, I can understand a Miata being thought of as a better "driver's car" than any Corvette, but to have the McLaren F1 underneath cars like the SLS, Any Aston Martin, GTR, R8, Evo, and nearly every other car on that list is ridiculous, regardless of your criteria.

I've heard there are plenty of issues with the way the F1 actually drives. Its performance may be otherworldly, but that doesn't necessarily it's going to be as amazing to drive as say, the Zonda F. This is the same reason why the Corvette isn't on the list. Great performance yes, but the driving experience itself doesn't compare.

    Just my thoughts

  26. 05-17-2011 01:38 PM #26
I want to take this time to point out how high on the list the MX-5 Miata is and to say "told ya so" to all of those who doubted what I've said of that car. Still think it's for secretaries? Fools, all ye who would say so.

No wonder it made it, most fun FWD hatch ever. I drove it more than 10 years ago and it still sticks in my mind as ultra responsive handling, throttle and lightweight feel. The current Cooper S feels like a chemical tanker boat in comparison.

there was a tie for 7th in points, the F50 and Clio Trophy, thus no 8th place.

Outstanding article, and I wasted altogether too much work time reading it! Thanks for the scans!
I love cars, but the problem is they are like schroedinger's hobby. They're always in a quantum superstate of being both awesome and a huge waste of time and money... until observation momentarily forces them into one state or another.

i'm glad the S2000 isnt on this list...

i was getting tired of ALL of the other "greatest cars ever made" lists having the S2000...they cant always be the best...

I like the S2000... A LOT. But they can be rather "twitchy" and "darty" on the road. So I can see the argument for excluding it.

I guess this is in no particular order since there's no way a miata beats a mclaren.

Oh yes, also watch this if you haven' seen it. Old but amazing.

You understand the difference between a driver's car and a car that puts down great numbers on paper? If you actually READ the article, it explained why the Miata (notibly the first gen version) is included in the top 10.
