And so it begins..over last winter my wife stood by me while i rebuilt my mk3 vr jetta. Now its time to get started on hers. Its a 1986 16v scirocco. She saw one and fell in love with it. The paint and body work have all been done. Its been resprayed the factory tornado red. The car is clean.... i picked up a corrado dash today and will start that project tomorrow. The project will consist of air ride and a mk4 tdi swap.. we will keep u posted as we are collecting parts and finding time to wwork on it...keep in mind. The end result will be a chick in a bagged big turbo tdi swapped Rocco with a corrado interior. Any criticism is welcome.thanks.... here is the starting point

No criticism here - your wife obviously has excellent taste.

WTTW - don't let your rather ambitious project linger. Ladies with with taste have little patience....

My only criticism is a lack of pictures in this thread.

Pics are coming soon.. im starting on the dash tonight.. so hopefully i will start posting them tomorrow. I havr pics of the car. But they are on my cell and i cant quite figure out how to get them from the phone on to here. I work on cars not conputers ...so just bear with me. I picked the full dash swap up lastt night.i am now working on piecing the airbag setup together. The time line for the over all project is dash right away. Airbags by h2o and tdi swap over the winter. It will not be overnight. As anyone who has ever had a project car would know. It takes time and money. But it will be a steady flow of work and parts.. also. If anyone can see something i am clearly doing wrong.. please give me a heads up. Im a mk3 vr guy so a scirocco project is going to be a complete learning process for me. So again.. bear with me. Thanks again

I think you will find the scirocco community more than forgiving and easily accessable to advice. I provably would have given up a couple of times if it had not been for the commnity that encompases the Scirocco list and this forum.

So, get stuck ask...If you have the desire to learn the jedi ways the force (us) will be with you.....although I have worries that the empire has already tempeted you in the dark side..

Really cool start, I have always been a huge fan of the raddo dash swap. Very cool motor choice too, haven't seen one of those yet, at least in our cars. Can't wait to see more progress

Sorry for the long delay. We had to take some time off to plan a wedding. Now we are back on track to get cracking on the rocco. However we decided to go a different route with the engine and trans setup. We decided to part out the my 98 jetta and build the scirocco with the supercharged vr6, big valve head and quaife with 3.94 gears. The setup out of the jetta. I will be taking the freshly installed corrado dash out and replacing it with the 2001 cabrio dimple dash and early 90's recaro seats. Pics to come starting this weekend

    I've got this... empty feeling.

But somehow, upon reflection, I feel cleansed...
