THEY HAVE CRAPPY FLYWHEELS. Get it checked if it blows apart it can take your expensive trans with it. I had one replace in florida for a customer for 1100 parts and labor the flywheel is 500.

2006 Jetta TDI w/ 130K miles. Auto DSG Transmission. Getting a rattling noise while in park and it goes away when I put it in gear. It's had this noise for about 30-40K miles and has never changed. Now I am getting a "roaring" noise at highway speeds so I parked it.
Did some research on the net and another forum and everything points to the "Dual Mass Fly Wheel" going bad. Question 1: Do you agree that DMF is the problem? Question 2: Does someone have a complete list of parts needed to get it fixed?

I got quoted $636 for the flywheel from a friend that works in a parts dept. Just wondering if ya'll agree with my original post that the fly wheel was the problem.

yeah, but don't get another dual mass flywheel.
You want a "vr6" flywheel if your cheap, or a nice heavy special replacement solid flywheel.
I had to replace clutch on a 06 tdi that blew the clutch apart and broke the throwout arm off the gearbox.
the clutch was in 3 pieces....
car had 62k on it.

So I can get a VR6 flywheel and save some cash? And it will work on my automatic DSG trans?
