    Appreciate it Nash,
yeah, i'm still unsure of which wheels will end up on it, but thx for the input.

Thanks airborne. Lmk when it's on the road. And I like your battery placement. I think I'm going to steal that.

Cant wait to see all the VR mk1s at SoWo this year.
Besides Nash's unfinished pile mine was the only one last year.

We should have a mk1 VR gtg.

Nash, I can't remember the et off the top of my head, but I'll look when I get home Sunday. The front wheels look like they'll work for sure, with no issues.

Got the Digifiz hooked up, although i still have to figure out the Tach/Oil pressure.
Big thanks to my buddy Rodney (JRC Motorsports), for lending me a hand/knowledge.

  17. 04-09-2012 08:11 AM #157
    What ECU are you running?

You need to pull the tach/coil signal from there, you can't pull it from the coil itself, otherwise it will cook it.

The oil pressure is likely because you are running the oem VR oil press sender, you need to get the correct one for the cluster, because they have different resistance.

All crap I fought with when doing mine...enjoy.

    Brian,
using the ECU out of my 97 mk3 GLX
yes, we found out that pullig it from the coil, didn't work.

ok on the Oil Pressure sender, i have everything for the cluster, so i'll have to relook that area, when i get some time to play with it again.

As always, thx for the info.

What makes you think a 4cyl tach is going to work, without a conversion box, on a 6cyl engine?

You used it on a vr6 swap?
There have been plenty of people try it with vr6 swaps + VW 4cyl tachs and it did not work.
Ive seen at least 3 people try it on here and it didnt work and one even talked with Dakota Digital and they told him it would not work and refunded his money.
