Looks much better one color. i think you text me a pic of it a while back. You were asking about a vw i had on craigslist for sale. Don't remember which vw, think it was an 8v mk2 golf, cause i've sold about 6 in the last month. My coupe is coming along. got an mTDI swap going in it

Hey boys, just wanted to drop in and let you know that a LOT of progress has been made on the Coupe Culture shirt design. I'll post pics of the preliminary design in the next few days.

I am surprised that trans held together this long especially after you chipped it.

got her home last night! I had to pull the trans again last night because with some ECS flywheels you have to clearance spots in the bellhousing for it to fit. it was so tight that the engine would not turn over.

    pic of what was done:

table of parts to swap in

trans after i fixed it, cleaned up

welded the diff pin and bolt kit

Here i had to grind the bellhousing for the clutch to fit. (ECS tuning fail)

    trans in the car

We had another coupe at the shop last weekend

All i have left is to clean up and fit a proper shift boot/knob, I have some solid shifter bushings and custom short shifter that im going to put in later. i wanted to break the clutch in first and have some fun after. then swap them and feel the difference.

Nice. But what if the lips were white and the faces of the black, but between the spokes was white? That way the centers wouldn't feel so dark.

Trying to figure out what to do for wheels for the coupe. Decided to bit the bullet and buy my brothers 16VT coupe off of him. I'll be rockin it this summer for shows. Needs a little TLC, but nothing major.

If I had mesh wheels I would want to do the black chrome powder I have on my futuras. The sample I picked from looked great because it was a pipe abd you can see the color change on the curved surface but with flat faces it just doesn't pop like I had hoped. Kinda like the set that Steve Two Dubs friend did. They were powdercoated chrome and that stuff looks meh on flat surfaces but on a basket weave they blinged.

I'm a BIG fan of this. Thinking of trying to do it with something other than an RS though.

I just know I don't want any multi piece wheels anymore unless I can get ss lips. I hate polishing them between the bolts.

i did some shifter stuff the other week and just getting around to posting pics. i put solid shifter bushings in the cable ends and the base bracket. then also shorted my shifter. enjoy

    all my old/new parts

    the base bracket bushings

short shifter, i just redrilled and welded the pin closer. Its a tad shorter then a 5 speed TT sifter. i also cut off the weight for an even more notchy feeling

    end link bushing

shifter feels great! now i just have to make and new shift boot for the inside

Hoping for a garage day tomorrow to get some work done on the coupe. sorta-fit bumper coming off so that an OEM unit can go on. Also need to get the hood off so the new hood can go on once it's painted. Flares and side skirts are coming off too. Few other little bits to swap out and then hopefully I can get around to picking up the new wheels so that I can get them off for refinishing. Lots to do in order to have her ready for show season.

It was a productive day. Got the hood, door cards, skirts and flares pulled off and the new hood and grill spoiler out for paint. Also ordered up a euro plate tub and the last two pieces I needed to complete the quarter flares.

Need a new front bumper and new wheels. Then I need to crank the coils down a bit and get over to you guys for a good once over and a bit more tuning.

Same boat here. Hopefully the coupe comes back from paint next week and I can at least get the motor set. All that effing wiring is going to suck. Bad.
