I don't like posting in F&B and I'm the president so there.

This weekend was really hot and we were working outside, so we were drinking:

    Transfusion
    1 part grape juice
    1 part vodka
    1 part Sprite

    007
    2 parts orange vodka
    2 parts orange juice
    3 parts 7-up

Paloma (my version; I've never seen grapefruit soda around here before)
    2 parts tequila
    3 parts grapefruit juice
2 parts citrus soda or half & half
    splash of lime to taste

Add that to the list of reasons I don't like Philly: No grapefruit soda.

Squirt is as close as you can get, if you can find it. It's a midwest thing.

I have lots of favorite cocktails, but mostly right now, we drink Mojitos made out of stuff we find in the garden.

My 12YO invented this mocktail - Muddle basil into berry juice, add sparkling water. Tastes a lot better than it sounds.

Dirty vodka martini on the rocks with white vermouth (usually in a lowball glass). If not that, lemonade and vodka.

    I vodka.

Blueberry mojito- so good in the summertime
    - light rum -fresh lime juice - 8 muddled mint leaves - 8 fresh muddled blueberries - simple syrup

When I was a nightclub bartender, all us bartenders would have a contest where we would pick an odd drink from a drink encyclopedia and see who could sell more of their drink that night. One drink in particular caught on so well it became a signature drink for us.

    Jamaican 10 speed:

    16oz. of ice
    1oz. Malibu
    3/4oz. Midori
    3/4oz. Cream de Banana
    5oz. pineapple juice
Splash of cream (2% milk is what we usually had around because cream usually went bad before it would get used up)

Let your lady try one. She will love it.

Just a tip: anytime you order a drink that needs to be muddled, blended, or heated in a fast pased environment like a nightclub, plan on getting short changed on alcohol. I've tended bar at numerous places and have yet to meet a bartender that likes to waste time making pretentious drinks. Save ordering your frozen mudslides for TGIFridays.

One of my summer faves doesn't have a name (as far as I know):

Tall ice-filled glass; fill half way with Malibu Coconut Rum, fill the rest of the glass with pineapple juice. Stir.

It's like a tropical beach vacation in your mouth.

    Monkey Gland
The Monkey Gland was a prohabition era drink invented in France that is totally awesome...
2 oz. Gin (Bombay is nice)
1 oz. OJ (you can go up to 2 oz. OJ if you want a sweeter drink)
    1 tsp. Grenadine
    1 tsp. Benadictine or Pernod

Combine and shake with rocks... Serve up with a twist or down over rocks.

    Dark Rum and Tonic
Exactly what it sounds like... it's awesome on a hot day.
2 oz. Dark Rum (I like Goslings Black Seal)
    Tonic to taste
    Wedge of lime

Combine ingredients in the glass of your choice, serve over rocks, throw in the carcass of the lime wedge for good measure.

    Tequila and Club
Also exactly what it sounds like... this is amazingly refreshing and perfect with Mexican food or hanging out in the summer.
2 oz. Tequila (don't use crap. I like el Jimador Reposado for mixing)
    Club soda to taste
    Wedge of lime

Combine ingredients in the glass of your choice, serve over rocks, and throw in the lime wedge

It's called a panty ripper. add cranberry juice as well and it's called a Malibu bay breeze (even though Malibu is rum, not vodka).

This weekend I made some of my favorite concoctions:
    -1 Gallon of Hawaiian Punch
-1 liter of Burnett's Watermelon Vodka
    -10 oz. of homemade "Moonshine"
    -10 oz. of Malibu Rum
-1 whole watermelon cut up into pieces

Make the night before and let it sit over night.

    Still hungover today from Sunday.

This. Also caipirinhas. I make a killer mojito with serrano chile - just enough sting to perk up your tastebuds. I've also subbed thai basil for the mint with that, and it's downright showstopping.

My wife is a bartender, so.....

I, however, mostly hate mixed drinks but here. we. go.

    Crown & Ginger

Glass of some size or other. Kinda short, like what my mom gave me orange juice in as a kid.
    Add some ice.
Add some Crown Royal ( put as much in as you like...**** if I care)
Add some Canada Dry Ginger Ale in proportion in how much you want to pour in to the glass.

    Vodka al la Pimento

Rustle up a Kraft Pimento spread jar. You grandma saved them. You know, what she always gave you juice in as a kid that you might have suspected was something else at some point. They have a nice lip on top and a pretty decoration. Turns out Kraft touted the repurposing of the jar as a bonus as a matter of fact. If you don't have one, go get some at the store. They still sell it in the cold section next to the cheese. I like the Pimento spread, but it is really mostly ****. Throw it out and save the jar. They make olive too, but it is really spooky. Same deal for the jar. Anyway, after you have the jar

Put Vodka in the jar. Half or so. Get a pickle and some crackers. Drink vodka. Do what ever with the pickles. Wear fur hat for mo' authenticity. Don't sip, just throw it back. Use what ever Vodka you like. Well, not the **** that is $9 for a handle. I hear you can run that through a Britta filter and it is top notch after that, but who the **** has that sorta time. Just buy some decent stuff to begin with. Unless you are already a pro drunk, then just buy the $9/handle crap...wait, why am I telling you that?
