I wish I would have thought about asking that before I ordered mine last week. I guess that's what happens when I do late night shopping

So it comes with the oiled filter standard? Maybe I could ship that filter back, pay the difference and get a dry filter/sock?

It comes standard with a dry filter but no filter sock so you could just order the filter sock and we could ship it separate. So no need to worry about having a oiled filter.

How much for the sock? I didn't see it on the site. Actually I received the package Friday and haven't even opened it yet. Maybe this is in the instructions but I'll ask anyway. Is there any significant advantage to adding a sock to the dry filter? What's the method for cleaning the dry filter, and does using a sock make cleaning the filter less frequent or unnecessary?

The big advantage to adding a sock is that it keeps even less dirt from entering the engine and it also makes less frequent the cleaning of your air filter. It is a nice upgrade if you don't plan on cleaning your filter every month. Cleaning is easy though we typically will clean them with a mild soap and water mixture and then rinse them and let them sit out in the sun or dry for a day indoors. Here is the sock

wouldnt the sock restrict air flow? maybe not by much but would you feel a difference?

  12. 06-23-2011 01:22 AM #17
The sock is designed as to not restrict air flow and you would not notice any difference in power with or without the sock.
