I have an Alpine white with burgundy cloth interior 1986 Porsche 944 for sale. This car runs fantastic, the entire engine has been gone through by me (professional Porsche Tech) less than 2 years and 5k miles ago. Currently showing 95,xxx miles, It has been lowered front and rear with bigger rear re-indexed torsion bars and front lowering springs, Koni adjustable shocks/struts all around. It has a stainless steel Dansk Cat back exhaust, chip, web cam and throttle cam. New waterpump, new timing and balance belt/rollers, new clutch hydraulics and new coolant hoses. This car is SOLID, It would make a great daily driver or weekend autocross/track car if you were so inclined. I would not hesitate to get into this car and drive it across the country... its THAT SOLID. The inside is in decent shape... small cracks in the dash (typical) seats are in good shape (one small split near the drivers shoulder) The outide is in fair shape, a few nicks/dents here and there... to be perfect it would need paint but it polishes out nicely. I have done all the bitch work on this car so now its time for someone to enjoy it, put some nice wheels on it etc.

    Price: $6000.00

no trades at this time, pm me if you are interested or you want to come see it. I am available just about every day from 8 am to 8 pm to show it.

    its definetly a nice runner

got this inside pic for now

@ g60racer, the build date is 11/85 so that makes it an early '86. guessing you were thinking of the dash change... those cars were early 85 and 85.5 was the dash update. This one is an '86 so it doesnt make a difference.

What a horrible time to have money tied up in a non-ending project (meaning me, not the OP).

Bump for a nice deal on a beautiful car.

Dan has wrapped himself up like a burrito at my house in a deflated air mattress while being nearly black out drunk.

Knowing that I wouldn't hesitate to buy one of his cars.

Running cost isnt too bad, probably on par with an older golf or jetta really. Every 15k they need plugs, air filter/fuel filter and timing balance belts adjusted and oil changes in between obviously. I wouldnt mind continuing to take care of it at all, that'd be a win win for me really, gaining a new customer and all that. PM if you have any further questions or would like to come take a look.

soft market right now isnt it!? Your car sounds super cool but I really have no need for another mk4, I had one a few years back and it was a great car but Im kinda over them. good luck on your sale!

    Thing of interest:

I let the registration lapse last month so the tags are not current any longer, I just dont drive the car at all anymore and didnt feel like dealing with the hassle. I will most likely register it non op in the next few weeks.

What do you think the cost is to maintain it...I know you said like an older golf, but I only spend about $60 bux give or take on maintaining my MK2. Also what's the cost for registration and do you still have the car?

cost of maintenance is all relative.... if you are a DIY'er its cheap, a 10 dollar filter and 6 quarts of oil and your oil is changed. If you have to bring the car to me for maintenance then expect a 15k service to cost around 6-700 dollars... its an oil change, spark plug replacement, air and fuel filters get replaced and the timing and balance belts get adjusted.

can you change the fuel and air filters? spark plugs?
do you have the belt tension tool to do a proper belt adjustment?

I do still have the car though registration for me was about 76 dollars/year
