    Woah, cool

Two questions: Why this over an LS engine?

Does the front frame of the Solstice really look like that, or did you modify it to remove the front structure?
"sports cars will get you through times without women better than women will get you through times without sports cars."

  6. 06-17-2011 03:16 AM #6
Yeah, the car will be getting a cage of sorts.

And yes, the frame looks just like that. Reason for the swap is that the Solstice Aisin AR5 transmission bolts right up to the 2JZ via a 1jz bellhousing. It's basically an updated Aisin r154 they shoved into supra's. Also, the motor mounts up to the LNF motor mount's, which was really weird, and it sit's in just the right place. Moreover, LS' have been done, I'm pretty positive this is the first JZ swap into a Kappa platform to my knowledge in the world.

    2JZtice...

The tale of DNA and bloodlines runs deep. Deeper than you imagined.
From hallow retired hero, the Supra to hallow slain hero the Solstice.
The power of Lutz strikes again. How swift JZtice is to respawn in the dead of night.

What a strange coincidence the 2JZ seems to fit in so well. Were you set on a 2JZ swap and then realized it fit with little modification?

Awesome build. Following for more later.

I'll ask the question no one else has? Why? There is a huge ecotec aftermarket and parts from the GM performance catalog will basically allow you to build a motor stock to 400 hp and onwards up to 1200 hp using a stock block?

Why? Because it hasn't been done before, that's why.

I'd go with that - I've never seen a similar one on the Kappa forums. What's the weight distribution going to be like?

I want to know you're going to fit the hood on there. I'm also interested as to where the radiator will go.

    F*&* a radiator, I've a 2JZ inside!

It might fit in the massive space between the crank pulley and the mounts for the original one.
