So it was finally time to decide to either sell the car or get it on the road again after 5 years of sitting around........so here we go then!

      Boxes began to arrive

      and more boxes....

      so here is the plan:

      1- Install new suspention (VMaxx)
      2- Install new wheels
3-Install refreshed euro headlights with HID in all4
4-Install USRT shift link kit, with shift lever base
5 finish and fix a bunch of interior stuff
      6-Install autotech cams
      7-etc

the car before the 5 years wait

Out with the old...in with the new!

      after the coils and wheels

specs: Schmidt modernlines 15x8 et 30 with 10mm spacers in the rear, yes the et30 fits in front.....barely!

fronts are nice and flush with the kit

next to figure out the suspention issue I am having... then the shifter fix!

      The interior now....

Need to finish the corrado dash install with a proper corrado/ passat cluster (trick it out a little too!)

finish the rear of the car since it is all gutted waiting for sound deadning and rear seat delete, plus new panels etc. Should be hours of fun!

I'll post as progress goes, hope to keep this interesting!

ok, so UPS guy showed up, but was a bit "light", so progress moves forward slowly, but hey, it just makes the project that much more fun!

Got my silicone pcv hose and put it on asap, old one was very mushy...

and my long awaited euro valances to get rid of those darn holes, will get these on in the winter months once i get the bumpers and kamei lip spoiler painted at the same time.

More soon I hope, did not get to drive her too much last week...

Corrado dash....Ya this was a bit of work (at least for me), the main things are (if I were to do it again), get as much out of a donor corrado as possible, you will need a cluster form an early corrado or passat(preferably 16v) with a cable speedo input. Also i sent alot of time making filler panels where the corrado body differed from the rocco.

you will also need to make a choice, either cut and narrow the dash, or get ready to trim and slim down the door panels since the dash is a little longer, I did the panels.

the switches are not hard to put over, and the heater controls (on non ac at east) fit right in to place from the rocco, also dome duct work will need to be done.

Get the lower parcel trays from the euro corrado non ac models, it looks better. There is a few more fine points but I guess you get the idea.

I installed miine without cutting or breaking any of the oem dash mounts, so I can always put the old one back, my oem dash was mint, I just wanted to have somehting different at the time.
The center console can be fitted as well but will also need some massaging.

I did it back in the days pre digital camera, so I will try and dig up some pics and scan them.

      thanks for the interest!

found some pics and scanned them.....
      old dash, still mint!

      ok out with the dash

      Trim and fit ....

      final result

      Issue was more the doors..

first trim the panels and made fiberglass inserts to mimic the corrado silouhette, then epoxy them in.ake the shape for the dash as well as the parcel trays

then I used a combination of epoxy and bumper putty to mold the new lower part I made from 1/4 inch particle board

then I wrapped the entire door in new vinyl

      final product

and one old show pic just for fun!! Back in the early '90s, I found a ton of show pics, thank god it takes a while to scan them all, otherwise this thread would be overloaded!!

small update, so far I have actually been able to drive the car and enjoy it, but I am itching to get more stuff done. I had to get the car paraised for the insurance company , otherwise I would be without insurance .

I also found my car seems to idle and run alot smoother with the silicone pcv hose, I guess the old one was really shot!

I have this little teaser, hopefully will be sooner than later....

and I got some other bits and pats to refresh the new seats!

      Thanks!

Progress lately has slowed since I have actually been driving it! Yeay!

Unfortunately the time has come this week-end to put her away for the winter, so the fun will begin once more!

Some powder coating, some new parts, retro med and improved interior, etc (can't spill all the beans!).

Oh and access to a newly installed lift! Oh yeah!

Ok so I have been a bit occupied with some DD repairs.....

But now back to my main project....

One seat done and test fit

So now to get seat 2 done, and also got some new plastic bits for the seat, getting hard to find, more on that later.

Also began to tidy up the rest of the interior. Got the corrado column cover and began to trim it to fit, it will need some massaging

Now going to fit a audi TT center console instead fo the corrado one I have tried to fit, I find it will look uch better and overall dientions will be better.

This is the tes fit, alredy know will need to ove the hand brake over and get it higher up to atch up to the console, but i think it will be worth it. once the rough parts are done I will upholster it to match the seats etc.

More to come, got a fw more things on the go, now just need to time to get it all done right!

Big thanks to Tim at Velocity upholstery for the awsome work on the new covers, I'll be sending him all the other parts to get trimmed up once they are ready.

Thanks for looking, sorry for the crappt cell phone pics, more soon!!

i was thinking of going the same route you did for a corrado dash swap (shaving the door panels), but i went with cutting the dash and narrowing it, the reason was because the shifter was hitting the dash
did you swap out the shifter with a different one or some thing?

Well IMHO the shifter and the dash width are 2 seperate things. Back when I installed I did not want to shorten it since alot of finishing or recovering would be required. Also the lower panels et. But if I could do it today I actually would recover the dash, but not cut it shorter. I obviously did cut the depth.

As for the shifter, I have the own one and mo issues, I do have a short shift kit, but even then it does not touch at all. You may have not trimmed it far enough depth-wise.

when i did get the depth, it got a little to tight between the doors, so i decided to narrow the dash it self, but I'm at the point were I'm almost done with it though

i like that Audi tt center console, looks real good, I am still debating on if i want to put one in or not

You can put the front section of the corrado where the shifter is, and leave the rest out, that can look cool, I am just stubborn and like the cup holders

that's what I was thinking about doing, but i kinda want it a little bit more open, and just get an old school shifter boot with the chrome plate around the bottom edge and bolt it down to the floor, kinda give it an old school feel to it

yeah that is the only flaw i can think of with scirocco's, no cup holder

but one of my work boots works perty well holding my drinks

not much done so far this week, but I got to work on the column cover again. There once were 2....

Then there began to be one......

So on to the fiberglass and hopefully finishing for the bottom half

Now trimming and test fitting alignment of the upper half while the fiberglass sets

still working on the handbrake / console issues, and finishing the driver seat cover install.
