So it was finally time to decide to either sell the car or get it on the road again after 5 years of sitting around........so here we go then!

      Boxes began to arrive

      and more boxes....

      so here is the plan:

      1- Install new suspention (VMaxx)
      2- Install new wheels
3-Install refreshed euro headlights with HID in all4
4-Install USRT shift link kit, with shift lever base
5 finish and fix a bunch of interior stuff
      6-Install autotech cams
      7-etc

the car before the 5 years wait
      [IMG][/IMG]

Out with the old...in with the new!

      after the coils and wheels

specs: Schmidt modernlines 15x8 et 30 with 10mm spacers in the rear, yes the et30 fits in front.....barely!

fronts are nice and flush with the kit

next to figure out the suspention issue I am having... then the shifter fix!

      The interior now....

Need to finish the corrado dash install with a proper corrado/ passat cluster (trick it out a little too!)

finish the rear of the car since it is all gutted waiting for sound deadning and rear seat delete, plus new panels etc. Should be hours of fun!

I'll post as progress goes, hope to keep this interesting!

my trophy seats? my prize posetions? the holy grail of vw recoaro......never!!!! muhahah! I sold my oem fronts, so I need to keep these as a back up in case I get rid of the race seats, they do not fold forwards, so if I put the rear seats back then I need the recaro, get some corrado fronts...

ya sucks, around here they crush almost everything, no more good yards left! did you try Montreal racing forum, or maybe VAG performance they have some stuff possibly lying around.

I cannot imagine it to be any worse than what I had, the old set up was 21 year old BOGE shocks, and nespeed coils, with the front coils cut shorter, far from ideal. last drive it was getting soft and the tires were rubbing.

Looking forward to the road feel of these, I will post my feedback after I get my alignment this week.

So it was a busy week-end, got a few more things done on the road to recovery ,

1- shift base is replaced with new shif lever
2-HID in all 4 lights, i low in the headlights and single beam in the fogs, sweet! NOW i CAN SEE WHERE I AM GOING!
3-got it started for the first time in a few years (video soon)
4- replaced the reverse light switvch on the trans.

...and some more parts came in....

      shifter

I still need to trim down the oem lenght, straightened it a bit as well to fit the interior better, hate that shool vbus shifter...

      Lights are on!

And just a glory shot after my first ride down the street in 5+ years, running good!

That's got a REALLY nice stance, I like that.

I may have to go with some coilovers nad lower my MK1 a tad more...

      Nice job!

thanks, but far from done, still needs interior work, and a few more parts to go on. Not to mention the paint is still OEM, and begining to show it's age.

But so far I am happy with it!

      Ok so a few updates:

      Got it aligned

Fixed my central locking issue by adding an auxiliary electric motor in the dribver's door.

Got my new door locks.......OOOOOO Shiney!

Next up some more goodies from the parts bin, and finish installing my super duper shift likage set.....oh ya and maybe drive it!

I got it from USRT, but it is made by SCCH, i think they sell it for less, you can find it here

      http://scch-heads.com/viewpart.php?id=16

I think usrt was about 15$ more, feels good, just need to fix up the rest of the slop in the front end links.

Looking good man, I have always loved the red on these cars but went with the alpine white when I bought mine. I am jealous of your engine bay and how clean and tucked away everything is!
