16x8 professionally widened steelies
Made from new (from dealership) TT/beetle steel wheels. Widenened by weldcraft in Michigan. Split with plasma torch rolling rig, centers cut out & reset to desired offset/backspace, leveled true with a lathe, tig welded with 2" bands, then sanded, and sealed.
The wheels were powder coated speedway black, then double clear coated. washed and waxed on a regulatory basis. Including the inner barrels. 99% free of dings, no flaking or chipped paint.
Fronts: 16x8 et26, 5.5" backspacing. The fronts fit 312mm TT brakes without spacers.they do not fit 334mm R32 brakes. They also easily tuck under mk3 fenders with room to spare. about a credit cards thickness of clearance between the top of the tires and a koni coil-over spring at max camber. (without spacers)
Pictured below are the front wheels with 10mm spacers on the fronts, a final offset of et16 with camber at ~3.5 degrees.
Rears: 16x8 et16, 5.12" backspacing. There is no rubbing on the rears with rolled fenders, room to space them out more if need be. pictured are the rear's cambered at -2 degrees.
These come with 215/40/r16 hankook ventus tires, mounted/balanced in June 2011. NOT ABUSED.
There are no bends on these wheels - they run true to the day they were made.
obligatory price, $1000
Trade? something really neat in 5x100; 16x8, 16x7.5, 15x8, or 15x9. Some good tires would be nice. ronal's, azev's, abt's, borbet's, ... the usual.
I'm not looking for: junk, garbage, or staggered wheels.
pictars
Rear fitment with no spacers. Plenty of clearance.
if there are any questions I'd be happy to answer them.

I'd offer you a set of BBS RXII I just purchased two months ago but at $1000 I would have to throw some cash in the mix but its just too expensive.
Very cool wheels & color scheme though!!!![]()
