i want to test/run the car first before wrapping and tucking the injectors.
and i dont want the cables to scratch the polished mani...

i'll get my ECU tomorrow from UM with turbo SW and 550cc injectors...

once i get the car running, assuming i connected the injectors properly, i'll post some pics on how the bay is looking.

i promise is good, clean and shiny!

    the thunderstorm months just passed...

Florida's summer is either rain so hard you cant drive.
Winds so strong they can move the car while driving...
    thunders are awesome...

OR freaking sunny (~95F) hot, sweaty and humid (>70%)...

now, its all over, until next year... this are the "good" months... yes, i HATE summer.

might do the dragon, waterfest and H2O as well.

it all depends on the economy.. lol.

i have an test on friday and on monday... so i dont even have the time, assuming i had the money.

anyways, some pics of the bay...
its been 19 days since i last drove, so i am abviously bored... and i took some pics to have some eyecandy.

Injector harnesses wrapped properly for the OEM look.

    polished you say?

oops... left the buffer compound on the bay.. lol. i realized it a lil too late.
    still, looks good.

    lol...
That didint last long.... Lol. Coolant expansion cap exploded and coolant touched the headers peaked the paint and made a mess.

pretty... and functional.. once i fix the exploding coolant. i did a fix so i could drive it, but the car isnt 100% ready...

i need to fix a small vacuum leak on cylinder 1... on top of the squeeling noise, cylinder 1 is having multiple misfires upon load... and iddle.. and decel.. lol. pretty much all the time.

and for some reason, the car/coolant is running a bit hotter than normal. its perfect on the hwy, but it gets VERY hot on the city. (+100C).

well, updates: the car was "ready" on thursday night... turned out that one of the o-rings on the intake mani was improperly done, and i had a decent air leak... iddling with 13in/hg when i should be at around ~18.

    so i had 3 issues:
    -car wouldnt start.
    - vacuum leak
-the coolant system wasnt working right.

battery: after 21 days without starting the car depleted the battery... it had 4-5 volts. a trickle charger wasnt doing the trick, since the battery wasnt getting more than 10 volts. so i pushed to start it. then the battery charged, and its holding charges so far . Problem 1 solved.

Vacuum leak: the o-ring in cylinder 1 was giving a decent leak... the car was pretty much misfiring BADLY.
it sounded great, like a cammed 5 cyl... but i was backfiring too.
It turned out the unburned fuel was combusting on the exhaust, so i was backfiring loudly and almost everywhere. Eventually i did blew the exhaust gaasket near the Cat converter... so i had a big exhaust leak too, and i was backfiring upon decel...
with careful driving i managed to not blow up anything.
as a couple of hour ago, that too was fixed.

coolant: with the blown caps for the overflow i reverted to a dual system to keep the car driveable and still preventing it from overheating.
then with another set of caps, better clamps (oem!) and some outside the box creativity i fixed that too.
initially i used a baby bottle for the coolant.. then i switched to a better bottle.
i'm currently searching for what will become the permanent solution.

oh, and i got my boost gauge finally!

I like what RedRum made for his rabbit its small and something like that would go nice with all the other polished parts you got.

I know.. but I don't really want ant more Shiny parts. All turbo pipes will be black.

The idea is to keep the engine/motor and only it, will be Shiny.

I'm looking for a tank that I can mount close to where the cooler currently sits, and keep it black.
It's fairly simple.. so I might get it done locally for dirt cheap.

coolant delete with makeshift tank is working PERFECTLY!

my highest coolant temp today was 93C and lowest (after warm up) was 85C!

for reference: my OEM temps on the same/similar conditions and road: highest was usually 96 on traffic (highest) and lowest was 90 on the hwy.

in short: it runs cooler than stock, less clutter on the bay, and just as reliable.
just make sure you get a nice tank, and not what i'm using.. lol

Yip... Like i was telling you, it's not any different that any other car. I'm running the little overflow and it's perfect. i actually am going to get a smaller one eventually

well.. i now want to tackle the fuse box... it will be done sooner than later.

first i need to remove the SAI pump, and clean the lines along it. Doing that will help me clean up the harness on the engine bay, and will yield in a cleaner bay.

i might delete the pump soon.. not sure. i just need a couple hours of free time and then it will be done.

if i need to remove the intake mani, then it will be postponed.. lol. I have removed that manifold more than 5 times already... and while it takes me less than 1 hour to get it on and off, i am just tired of doing it.

Finally got the fuel line tucked eh? I seriously love mine under the mount. And getting rid of those visible n80 plastic lines is nice too. Bay looks good fred!

Did you have to extend the passenger side harness for tucking? Because for mine i had to extend a few things and now am having an airbag fault on the passenger side, also getting a short to ground somewhere in there too...

    lol...

i have been really giving it a lot of thought to the bottle situation.

i dont want anything visible... i might be making a diy bottle... we'll see... for now, the big blue and green is doing its job VERY well. so i find no need to hurry... i mean, i have until november (next show) to fix it up.
