I just watched the movie. Not bad.. lots of actions and don't feel like a drag at any point.

btw, that Russian intelligence agent who chasing Ethan Hunt really look like the main character in GTA 4 - Niko Bellic.

I saw it over the weekend in IMAX and thought it was great. Incredible action sequences and the intro Dubai scene was just amazing looking.

I haven't seen it yet, but really want to. As much as I can't stand Tom Cruise and all his weird isht off-screen, I ALWAYS enjoy his movies. I totally forget that he is Tom Cruise while watching his flicks. He does a great job at getting lost in the character, especially Valkyrie... For me at least.

No mention of Paula Patton! I've been a fan, but wow.

Watched it on IMAX & the panoramic shots were in the words of Jean K. Jean "in-krey-ah-ble!" Tom cruise is getting hella old & I don't understand the whole marriage/relationship w/his on-screen wife.

I wonder what Hollywood would do without Russians as the antagonist/nemesis?

Saw this last night with my wife. I don't know if it's because we don't get to go out much having a 21 month old but I thought MI4 was awesome. We made a few bad movie choices recently and this was the first one in a while that felt worth finding a sitter for. And you can say what you want about Tom Cruise but the dude is a pro and knows how to make some damn good movies. He may never get an Academy Award, and neither will his films, but the box office doesn't lie... and somehow I doubt he cares.

Did the opening scene seem really cheesy to anyone else? I thought they were going to cut to a TV that was playing a MI style movie or something.

yea i kinda felt that way... I think the IMAX cameras that they used kinda made it seem like that even more... if you saw it in IMAX..

Really enjoyed this one. A bit less outrageous as previous ones, a bit more funny I think.

    Bad, really bad...

Yes, it looked nice but other than that it was horrible.

The comic relief ruined it for me. I don't get why they have to add that to movies like this. Sure, we're under cover but I'll just crack some jokes anyway.

The action scenes but they went on way too long. I think I could have cut 20 minutes off of that movie and it would have been more watchable...

I think "really bad" is a bit heavy-handed. Sure some of the comic relief was a little forced but it filled a gap. The action sequences were great. That's one of the main reasons people go to see this movie. My heart was about to beat out of my chest during the sequence where Tom Cruise was climbing the Burj. And his "no ****" was incredible comic relief, I thought. Probably the best, most succinct of the movie.

The comic relief definitely seemed forced and didn't add anything to the movie, IMO. Action scenes were good, but I feel that somehow there was too much action and not enough of the movie focused on plot development. I really want to like it, but it was pretty "meh" overall.

saw it and i really liked it. some cheesy parts but that was expected. the ending was a little stupid - the chit chat at the table with the team was lame.

    spoilers.

I realize there's some element of suspension of disbelief/reality but i don't understand:

    1. why hendrix the bad guy wanted to start a nuclear war? what was his motive?

    2. why hendrix the bad guy hugged the case and jumped off to kill himself? if that was sufficient, why didn't he just throw the case down in the very beginning of the fight scene and avoid the fighting? and how was it supposed to stop tom cruise from stopping the nuclear missile by having the case (with him dead/dying next to it) at the bottom of the garage?

    3. why bogdan's cousin helped tom cruise right after saying he won't/can't help?

I thought it was really good. It's an action movie, and there was plenty of it. Some things you could argue about the plot, I got lost a few times as to why they were doing what they were doing, but overall I would definitely watch it again.

And kudos for NOT overusing the shakey cam.

I saw this in a movie about a bus that had to speed around the city, keeping its speed over fifty, and if its speed dropped, the bus would explode! I think it was called, "The Bus That Couldn't Slow Down."

He basically wanted the world to re-boot itself after a cataclysmic event e.g. a nuclear war. He thinks the re-boot would make mankind stronger.

The part that bugged me was that the missile launch would have been instantly detected by U.S. satellites.

I really enjoyed MI2...MI3, and MI4...so I tried to watch the first MI....holy crab apples that was a shockingly bad movie. It looked like a spoof it was so bad.

Wait, you didn't like the 1st one, but you liked the 2nd one? The 2nd one is terrible.

watched it again this past weekend. still don't understand the suicide move at the end. he could've thrown the case down... chase tom cruise down to the bottom... fighting him all the way and that would've delayed him much more.

or if he wanted to give up, just throw the case down and leave?

Just watched the BD last night. I thought as a standalone action/spy caper it was very entertaining. The dubai scenes were particularly engaging. But as an MI story it ranks slightly above MI:2. Zero story complexity and a useless "twist" at the end. First one is still the best.
