I guess I'll be the jerk to say it, thats a T2, not a T1.

      Still pretty cool though.

Looks like a T1 to me. I mean it is made from Lego bricks after all... can't expect it to be a 100% life-like replica.

I'm guessing it'll be on Lego.com soon-- or I'll just have to procure it from Europe.

I've got 3 of the Lego Ferrari and the Type 1 already -- like I need more!!

$50 kit? Oh my, you've not price these out lately, now have you??

A Lego Ferrari Enzo (no longer available from Lego) are running around $500. I'd expect the T2 to come in somewhere around the $150 pricepoint from Lego.

The beetle is the T1, the Transporter/Kombi/camper is the T2.

      Don't confuse Type with T. The Splitty is a Type 2, T1.

Beetle is Type 1. Never seen it refer to as T1.

      T1 (2, 3, 4, 5 etc) refers to the generation of Transporter.

Based on number of LEGO pieces in this set, I'd guess the price will be more like $170 or $180.

The general rule of thumb is 1,000 piece ~ $150.
