I have to say I agree with the sentiment held by many that he was never an elite goalie. He won largely due to the team in front of him.

That being said he does have a ring or rings? so probably doesn't lend too much credence to that sentiment.

There have been a lot of 'elite' goalies who never won 3 cups (ok, 2 as starter) and had 401 career wins.

Agreed, but it is a team sport. Some great goalies never win because they don't have an elite team in front of them their whole career while some good ones win 2 or 3 because they do.

Is he Brodeur or Roy? I think most would agree he isn't. That being said even on a great team you can't be a bad goalie and win 2 cups. A heckuva career indeed

the guys already a 2.2cap hit without a contract, the new deal would have to pay him like very little for fans not to get really pissed off (cause they should consider he's already making 2.2mil).

Yeah the one on the far left with the jet and maple leaf is nice. Always liked simple logos ie. Flyers P, Habs C, Bruins B, Leafs leaf. Alot of the logos of newer teams are too much.

One exception would be the Hawks. That's a more involved logo that works.

I can't think of another recent 'expansion' team logo that was even decent. I really like the Jets stuff. Hopefully the entire uni is nice.

I love the new logo for the Jets, it was rough seeing them leave - I think I was 20

My bro left work an hour early to buy me a hat real quick before the throngs bought up all 1900 by Sat am.

T-shirt next. I have a buddy to get a jersey a little cheaper when they finally do release them!!!!

I was one of the lucky one's online that got 4 season tickets in the 2 minutes it took to sell the last remaining tickets once they went on sale to the public $2800 +$750 (fee). Yep I had to sign up for 4 years but it's either that or never see a game. So many people didn't get.

He played a few games for the panthers before signing here. It’s a two way deal, he won’t be seeing much time up in Vancouver, he'll see more time in Chicago.

The new owner is definitely showing that he wants to be a contender this coming season. It's a nice change from the old Sabres team who focused only on defense and were happy being a middle of the road team.

Most definitely. Last year I thought they really had a chance but decided just not to show up in the playoffs. Really pissed me off.

But yeah they new owner is walking the walk and backing up all the stuff he said when he bought the team. Which is no doubt giving the players more confindence overall.

In some ways I can agree with both of those statements but at the same time when watching a lot of Sabres games you lose faith in them.

Vanek has days when he is unstoppable, almost like once you finally light the fire under his ass he wakes up but typically he doesn't do much. Thats probably because of the people he is surrounded with like you said. Roy being injured at the end of last year hurt them a lot.

nah, just a sophomore slump...he'll be fine. he was still a 0.5PPG d-man and was even +/-...not even that bad for his slump season.

i bet he'll be a monster in a few years....the guy is only 21.

I hope he does well in Buffalo. Guys slow as molasses, but man can he maneuver in traffic with the puck. I'm just waiting to see if he reproduces the success he had in Philly. How much of it was the great chemisty with Briere and Hartnell and how much was Ville.

I'm assuming Ruff will try and put him with similar players. A speed/skill guy and a grinder to compliment his talents since he's neither

always man, its just our thing... the bertuzzi incident, Rome hit, booin Phil Esposito and the general hate Vancouver gets from Canada... Theres allllot more. We just have always been disliked by other teams/fans. I get alot of hate, even before this years run, because there the "Bad Guys"..

Well It's nice but I want to see it in action to get a better idea. Once you see it for a few games with the home and away colors, then I think we will be able to judge better. Remember most Canadians will like it because it pays tribute to the Snowbirds

An arbitrator has awarded Nashville Predators defenceman Shea Weber a one-year contract worth $7.5 million.

The Nashville captain had been seeking $8.5 million from his club, while the team countered with an offer of $4.75 million.

Nashville offered $4.75 million? Are they serious? LOL They must not want to keep him. He will either be traded by the deadline or become a free agent over next summer. I doubt since they were this far apart in pay, that he will sign long term with them after that insulting offer.
