They engine bay color is amazing looking.

Nothing groundbreaking........but a few more pieces of this over-sized German jigsaw puzzle have been aquirred.

    * TPS equipped passat TB (For the MS)
    * lightened & balanced IM shaft
    * ARP Forged main studs

As for paint prep.........front fenders are freshly shaved and trimmed in, ready for re-installation-----as is the shaved rear hatch door. The emblems and third brake light were removed from the hatch door.........

As always, lack of funds are keeping the progress to a minimum, but hopefully that changes at least a little bit soon. Until then, I will continue to enjoy the rusty Westy

Small update, with big significance.........front fenders have been trimmed in and test fitted back on the vehicle

The color is a custom 3-stage candy RootBeer, with LOTS of Gold metalflake. These pics dont begin to do it justice.......but once the rain stops I will push it outside and take some better ones.

Not enough light to really show the depth or the metalflake, but you get the idea

    More paint coming soon.....hopefully

    RogueRabbit83.

I found this thread about a year ago and followed it way back then. I just checked up on your progress. You are doing some great things.

I just aquired my own Cabriolet last night and my head is swimming with styles. Yours has helped focus my thoughts. Mine sat in Seattle rain for quite a few months and the top leaked.

What kind of clipper kit does yours have? Most I see have steel bumpers, while yours wraps around, then the fenders then the side skirt? Is that considered a full kit? What would it be called.

So with the engine you are staying pretty much stock? with just a few visual modifications and a few mechnical things?

Have you put back in the interior at all?

I really like the colors. Around page two I was thinking about a dark brown like you suggested and I think that "root bear" looks perfect. Is the top staying black or is it going to saddle brown? I have seen a lot of websites with many different colors to choose from.

Keep up the fantastic work! And please keep us updated!

Lol, thanks----life has seriously gotten in the way these past few months, bringing progress to a grinding halt

I managed to get things slowly rolling again with Steve's help Body prep got back on track this week----the one & only rust spot on the car......rear quarter panel, where the top tucks under--has been cut out and patched. All minor dents have been taken care of, hatch door finished up, and we are edging closer towards paint. As always, money is an issue.

Plans for the motor setup have also changed-----the revised plan involves a G60 block, ABA head, and T4 setup. "Just keep swimming"
