I've had my eye on the ABT reps...my rockers are mint anyway...but I like how skirts look. I'm not rushing this. As much as I would love the car at H20, bringing a rushed, incomplete car is not my thing. Do it once, do it right

I'll be at h20 either way, so we will see how things pan out.
I still have it for you and it isn't going anywhere, Unless you suddenly decide you want it sooner. But you have my word its yours. I'll be at h2o carless as well. im sure ill run into you at some point. Ill be down from friday morning to monday late afternoon.

No worries. If you bring it to h20 I'll scoop it there, or whenever... We'll prob run in to each other. I'll be there Thursday night until after the show Sunday.

EDIT: Page 30. This has come a loooooong way. Still more to go!

Im just trying to be realistic. And Bryan if it comes to be I can take the car, then I will be in touch about the dummies.

But. The fact of the matter is that I am leaving for h20 in 10 days. And paint hasn't even touched the car yet. Not only that, but the paint / clear needs a few days to cure to be strong. Then the car needs to be put back together, THEN the interior needs to be put back together.

A good deal of extra repairs needed to be taken care of that I was not aware of. Nothing major, but it all adds up. And the blocking / priming / blocking / priming process is tedious to make it perfect. Prep is what makes the car look good, so it's something I refuse to rush for a show.

All I can say is we will see.

Figured I would make it official, it won't be at h20 unfortunately. And it's pretty stupid that Show n Go was moved to yesterday instead of AFTER h20, because I would have at least been able to bring it there.

No worries. Progress is still going strong and coming out perfect.

    Blocked again and removed moldings

Then, after cleaning up the old molding tape and another round of primer / blocking, some paper thin touch ups were made.

    Body lines are PERFECT

In the meantime, I've picked up a set of wheels from mr. autothug. I started refinishing them and I think gunmetal will look fresh on my wagon.

    fkn love that thing

Had a great time at H20 as expected, even though my GTI wasn't there, was great all the same. Ran in to some good people and some I have been waiting to talk to / meet up with for a while.

Stopped and talked to Larry and scooped a rear strut bar. We shall see if it makes it to the car, I like how they look, but I'm not sold on touching the rear towers..

Spent most of the weekend cruising around with some buddies and their .:R's. My Passat did it's job. Solid ride, just had a little coilpack problem on the bridge, but it's nothing a little JB couldn't fix.

    GTI progress is still underway!

Since that strut brace really isn't functional anyway what i would do is not even bother bolting it into the strut towers. Go get some felt put it on the inside of those mounting points, and just expand it till it sits tight between the towers and holds itself in place. since it would be purely for looks that'll solve your problem of not wanting to mess with the towers, and also if you want more space itll be easily removable.

Yeah. I might just put it in place and use 3M tape...then cover the sides with the carpet. We shall see.

Car is currently done with primer. Time for final blocking and then cleaning / scrubbing before paint

You shouldn't even need 3m tape the car it came out of it was literally just expanded till it was tight enough to hold itself in place

Anyone have anything to say about the van-wezel vr lips? (not jom). I'm sure they aren't perfect, but my OEM CL lip is pretty beat....

Thanks thanks. And it's possible it may have a new set of shoes to roll on. Scooped a lil somethingsomething. I also ordered up a vanwezel VR lip. They seem decent. Can't get my hands on a OEM one yet.

    Teasers ftw.

And yeah. This color is absolutely sick.
