Did you figure this out? I have the same car doing the same thing. I'm hoping it's only the sensor.

I just had my oil pressure light come on and then go out after after about 5 seconds. it also did this to me yesterday. I had the oil changed 2 days ago and the oil light came a day before the oil change as well. Each time it turned on it was for only about 5 seconds each time. the has never leaked any oil for as long as i have had it and still doesn't. there are no other warning lights on the dash at all. everything else is working as it should the car runs smooth and quiet. I read the manual about this and it said that when the light comes on you should check your oil level and add as nessassary but my oil level was right where it needed to be. the engine temps are good too. I can't think of what the problem could be since all other indications is that there is nothing else wrong with the car. is there a sensor that might need to be replaced? I would think if a sensor is the proble the light would stay on.
The car has high miles around 177K and it has been hot out the last several days between 90-95 degrees out if that makes any difference. and of course it is an 04 Jetta GLI 24V manual.
Please help.
Thanks

We (about 10 of us) all had a discussion a few years back.
We could never find an answer.
We did come to the conclusion to only use OEM filters. I have stuck with OEM since then, and my random problem went away.
typos, commas, and whatever else blamed on the phone. grammar...that's all me.
