This thread originally served as my "Fck I just broke down thread". I don't feel like giving it up, so it's now my build/ timeline thread.
This was the original post. Since then my car has been fixed and broken again and again.
This is the earliest picture I could find of my car. Car was bought completely stock.Car broke down today.
Probably no waterfest.
I had a secret too.
I guess this will serve as my teaser now.
First set of Mods:
- GIAC tune
- APR R1 diverter valve
- Eurojet 3” turbo back exhaust
- Rokkor coilovers
I have a lack of pictures from this era.
I was a broke college kid so I did a bunch of cheap mods for the time being.
Home Depot door sills
Hand stitched the seats
Rear seat delete
Rear wiper delete. (No pictures but imagination can be used)
Joey modded my headlights and replaced the lenses with glass.
Started making a “racecar” and installed a eBay FMIC and devils own Stage II water/meth. I found a rep R32 bumper and sold the stock golf bumper.
Rewrapped my interior mostly plaid other than the headliner that I did black.
Thought I was so awesome.
Bought played wheels.
Moved onto my second set of coilovers, Raceland Ultimos.
Sometime around this time I installed a forge turbo inlet pipe, TT short shifter, Euroimage motor mount spacers, Hotchkis front and rear sway bars, roof racks, and traded my diverter valve for their Eurojet diverter valve.
Got my frame notched by these guys. Highly recommend them. Real chill guys who are actually in the vw scene.
Bought a DSLR. Still thought I was cool.
Bought OEM R32 grills. Can’t really tell from head on.
Car is starting to take shape.
New plate and golf tails to match my amber side markers.
Sold the sawblades and removed my tint.
Fried my ECU the day I was getting my new secret wheels mounted.
Replaced my ECU and got tuned by Gonzo Tuning.

Front: 8.5” et39 1” lip
Rear: 9.5” et45 2” lip
Broke an axle 139 miles away from home right after a show in the rain.
Replaced both axles with Raxles.
One week later I took third at a show and caught on fire on the way home.
Found Jetta vents at the local junkyard.
Restitched my seats to match my wheels and put the back seat back in.
Removed crappy FMIC, crappy rep bumper, and water/meth for my new bumper.
Euro golf bumper with a 4motion lip.
Broken oil pan 109 miles away from home. Replaced with hybrid pan.
