Put in my rear speakers and tweeters today. Also worked on my headunit wiring. I made sure to tap into the illumination wire on the dash so the headunit dims at night. It always bothered me that it didn't.

You wouldn't even know. I didn't want some ricey speaker sht hanging out.

How do they sound? I'm thinking of getting some 2-way Kickers for ~100/pair.
I don't need a lot of bass but I like to play my music pretty loud since my TDI is noisy and sometimes I'm just in the mood

I'm stuck on something on the passenger side. I gotta pull off my fender and check. I think once I fix it I will be laying frame. I'm like 1/4 inch away.

im guessing you mean your 1/4" on the passenger side. my DS is MAYBE a 1/8" maybe a 1/16" its stupid close.
but my passenger is higher, looks to be just over 1/4".

    for doing werk.
i would be careful about tapping into that wire. i wanted to do it when i installed me Innovate Wide Band MTX-L AFR gauge. but it was clear in the Instructions not to. something about not having enough power or something. amp/volts. i dont remember.

Not that worried. If it doesn't work out I'll just pull it out.

The thing I'm least skilled at is wiring and electrical work yet I've never had an issue with it in my car. I useto have some shady wiring too. Under my dash is a nightmare. I need to go back one day and redo it all with the correct color wires. If anyone other than me touches my wiring they'd be fcked.

Having the same issues with my audio. If I unplug the left front negative wire the headunit will play like ****. If I plug it in, my headunit goes into failure mode.

I haven't had my audio working since April. The issue was either I had blown speakers or bad wiring. Looks like its wiring. I bypassed my wiring and the problem stayed so it has to be the wiring in the car.

I have no clue how to go about this.

On a side note, my fiance broke down on her way back to college. We are two peas in a pod.

is it only happening with the front driver side speaker? if that one is not connected does the other speaker work fine?

Figured it out! The front left negative wire running from my harness to my amp was bad. I replace the wire and everything worked. Now I have to go to the store, buy wire, and make a permanent fix.
