Really just need to buy tires...looking for a set of 205 40 16's and a set of 195 50 15's. Car came with the original 1995 GLX factory BBS wheels too.

Nothing really accomplished last night. My dad is back from Afghanistan for a couple weeks and we had some catching up to do.

Not much going to happen tonight either, electricians apprenticeship classes. This weekend should give me time to do some more wiring.

meh...bled the clutch and played with the battery (need more cable). Working all day OT tomorrow (time and a half is never a bad thing!).

Really hard to balance working to make money, while having time off to spend it

Test fit the cooling system. Need to get some couplings and piece together the lines that went out of the head to the heater core and then back to the Tstat housing. Heater core is gone now, but I'm water cooling to the turbo so the lines can't be completely removed. Need to find all the hardware to mount the radiator. Got the fans ziptied to the radiator. Had to fix the spark plug wiring. In the process of getting the wiring cleaned up I must have accidentally moved about half of the wires on the coil packs. Glad I checked...car probably wouldn't have run the way I had it.

picked up one of these power steering delete lines from vortexer S/N ON3WHLS

Gotta drop the rack/subframe to undo the hydraulic lines; tried with it all in place and can't get any leverage on the nuts.

You dont have to drop the rack, I did mine while the car was all togther. A bit of a pita but better then tearing it all down. Make sure you have some stubby wrenches.

LOL i have nothing against manual steering... lol... buy arent the manual and power steering racks ratios different, and without the hydraulic boost, isnt that NON-power power steering rack harder to manipulate than a manual rack...? thats my question... does this system loop work better than just draining the rack of its fluid and running a well greased rack...?

I put the same loop kit in the mkII. The power rack has a better ration that the manual rack.... It's a PITA trying to get the car all the way up on the wall in the garage, but other than that, its good to go

That's what I heard as well, the ratio is quicker with the P.S. rack, but a little harder to maneuver at lower speeds. I'm curious how bad torque steer is going to be with the quaife and liberal amounts of boost/traction problems

I tried with everything in place, it's just too damn tight. Might try some PB blaster but I don't think corrosion is the issue.

Tried on the P.S. hardline bolts again today. Still couldn't get them loose. Going to hold off on that part for a little while and focus on wiring. Picked up a good ground wire for the battery.

Found a little rot under the car, couple places where I had to clean off the undercoating and do a little rust treatment on. Going to have to re-apply undercoating after I degrease the rest of the underside of the car.

Got the downpipe attached to the cat/rest of exhaust after picking up a 3" 3 hole gasket.

Still need to bleed the brakes and pull the trigger on some tires.

No pictures today. It's cold as hell in the garage, even with insulated Carhartt bibs and jacket.

If you don't plan on using it much this winter...I'd gladly like to rent that monster. Don't feel like dropping $150+ on a forced air propane heater that I'm only going to use occasionally for a few months.

I would love to talk to you some day about both the master setup and the Battery relocation. All my ABS is disconnected and I would love to get rid of all the extra crap in the engine bay. Is this all stock parts or are those hardlines custom? Also like to see what you have decided about the trunk battery location and how you are wiring it?

No power steering here on my vr6 turbo w/ an open diff @ 12psi and torque steer isn't anything to wine about. Just make sure your tires are aired right.

Master cylinder and booster are factory parts. Hardlines are custom handmade pieces. Battery relocation to the trunk is still being worked on, but when complete will be worth the headache. LMK if you have specific questions.

Are you planning on running straight cable al the way back to the battery? Or using some sort of halfway fuse? Grounding in the trunk?

Chassis will be grounded in the trunk. Power will run from the battery to a mkIV style distribution block near the drivers foot well. I'll get pictures as soon as more progress is made.

Mostly because the radiator I have right now has a lot of bent fins and the fans cover it up pretty nicely. Don't want to mess with too much cosmetic crap like that right now considering the rest of the block/transmission and stuff aren't 'detailed' like the intake manifold and valve cover.

@Kevin; how is the glass on the fogs? Seems like every set I come across the lenses are cracked, sandblasted to hell, or just plain missing chunks. I debated polishing the glass on a pair as in the thread here http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/e39...hing-pics.html but the materials would cost about $70, not including my time. So, OEM replacement glass seems like a decent alternative.
