Heh, the battery has been unplugged for about 2 hours now. Great minds and all that.

Any idea how long it takes to completely reset?

Need front right wheel bearing and the all wheel drive has ceased working...maybe the control module? Should find out tomorrow. Love the car, but at 131,000 I am thinking of moving on.....

Hmmmmm... let's just say that for the year my repair tally is up to over 5K. The biggest thing was getting a CEL, which was p1340 for cam misalignment. That turned out to be due to the timing chain being stretched. So it was a whole engine tear down, replacement of cams, pulleys, rails, gears, timing chain, etc etc. And then when they had it all apart, the clutch was almost gone, so we did that too. Yippee, I saved on labor for that at least. This was a couple months ago.... which brings me to the recent one....Differential carrier bearing failed (in dramatic fashion in traffic I might add, requiring immediate pull over and tow). Another pricey repair.

Needless to say, as great as it still drives, I'm not happy with the year's problems. I'm getting something different in the next 6 months. It's worn out its welcome, and not in good graces anymore.

well, battery reset didn't work for the CEL. It was back on within 12 hours.

hopefully all goes well for you. i was the guy with the twin car that came to say hello to you. not sure what it was as i work as a service advisor in the mazda/kia building, but i would imagine it was the haldex connector and a possibility of built up corrosion. wheel bearings are just one of those things that go at 131,xxx. no reason to get rid of a VERY fun car.

glad it at least fixed the door lock issue.

    Need a clutch/flywheel job.
Traction control light is on all the time, no CEL.
Intake cam sensor is f'ing up intermittently
Need a new convenience center thing, random electrical glitches
Fuel door switch takes forever to work, sometimes have to sit there for a couple minutes and keep pulling it. Makes fueling up irritating.
Think I need some new wheel bearings too.

Thinking I need a new throttle body because I can't adapt it or set readiness. Plus it's bumping idle. Awesome!

Out of the blue, the instrument cluster "dinged" and the odometer part of the cluster went black. Restarted car and it came back on.

Been driving my car around town a few times, just a few miles added, and just noticed my front
tires have'n major inner wear. Desperately need an alignment, which I knew for a while, but
wasn't driving her, since I needed a suspension, now I need to rush order something, before
these new tires go to sh it.

Got the check engine light tonight and the flapper is now shut so its obvious the sound has changed. Read the owners manual and it says it's related to the exhaust system...reduce power use and have it looked at. Is this a problem with the cat?

What is this actually related to?

I don't have a diagnostic tool to read faults so I can't check the code. Anybody recommend a code checker for this car?

Love the car so far, I had an 01 VR6 and lusted for this R32.

I got a CEL. Tell me if this makes sense:

I have a unitronic stage 2 tune, when I got the tune I had a 3 inch EIP cat back. I went back to a stock exhaust and thats when the cel came on.

Could that be because i went to a stock exhaust now and the airflow isn't as much?

Took the car to the mechanic and the code pointed to the secondary air system and turned out the tube was leaking. New tube installed code cleared.
While there had the car inspected and oil changed. All looks good, runs and drives fine.

Today driving home the engine light came back on.

So has anyone had problems with cold weather conditions or the secondary air intake system?

Temps are below 39* F, no snow on the roads just cold and dry.

Water in hatch again. I did replace the factory cluster f*ck set-up with clear vinyl tubing over a year ago. The tubing is still attached & there's a lot of water in the hose, so thinking clogged drain nipple.

Cruise control hasn't been working and scanned the car to find the clutch switch was bad. Replaced the sucker and now it drives like a whole new car.

the one tiny little part makes that much difference.
