Cruz contract isn't up for I believe another 2 years. He has a Rookie contract.

Jacobs, will most likely be released. They've been setting up Ware for most of the season to see what he can do.

With Blackburn they may resign him for another year based on his performance.

What I am really looking at is T2, his contract is up and was injured. I wonder what Reese will do with that situation.

No ...Jacobs has fallen off tremendously in the last two seasons
No ...Blackburn was an inch away from being a school teacher. I like him, but he's not a critical part of the D
Sign Cruz ...he's a playmaker. Likes the city, the system, handles the pressure and has a good repport with Eli ...oh and he's a good person.

Draft pick on a later round RB.

Id continue to beef up the secondary and O line via the draft and whatever FA dollars they have left

I think it was Ballard that they showed on the sideline trying to see if he could redirect and he fell in pain. Even as a Pats fan I couldn't help but admire the effort he made to try and get back out on the field, even if he may have injured himself further.

We have Ware, Bradshaw, & Scott.

What we need to draft is a TE to add to the receiving core. I could see picking up another LB and CB. Of course Reese comes from the mentality you can never have too much pass rush, so we could see a Dline men again as well.

We will see soon enough what draft and FA results will be.

This is what has me wondering. A lot of people have forgotten about T2. When healthy he is our best corner. I would definitely resign him.

And I think Chase will get signed for at least 1 more season. Cruz will get paid.

It's all about the TE this year and fullback position. Giants can use another good TE and FB.

I thought Hynosky, Ballard, and Pascale all did their part well. If Eli had big studs like Gronk and Hernandez the Giants would easily tear up their division like the Saints with Graham.

Was it the last Giants victory parade where the guy hopped in line with the Mara family and nobody checked if he had any credentials? Or was it the last Yankees parade? He took a lot of pictures and posted them online. Looked liek he had a great time.

Just curious ... do they open concession stands for things like this? Do they charge for parking?

Parking is free, and stands are open for the rally at Giants Stadium.

Looks like we will be drafting a TE in the first round, or signing a FA TE... Both Beckum and Ballard Tore their ACL during the SB, so they won't be ready by the time the season starts. The only TE we have left is Pascoe.

Cruuuuuzzz .... signed a book deal for six figures, good to see this kid is going to get paid. Its looking more and more likely that Manningham wont be back. I wish him luck... he's been pretty durable, reliable... and hell, his toes were pretty much SB MVPs.

Gmen will open the season on Wednesday nite... So they wont be in competition with the DNC.

What about someone like Shiancoe at tight end?

I don't think we should bring Shiancoe back. If I was JR I would try to pick up one in the draft, because we are hitting the cap.

Burress should go to the Eagles, he'll fit right in with his attitude. Dream team round 2.... I just want to tell him it worked real well for the other numb nuts who went last year.

Main concern for the Giants right now is the FAs we need to resign. Manningham is gone, Jacobs looks to be gone as well. T2 hasn't been resigned yet, Ross is also a FA along with a host of others. Its going to be a bitch to repeat.

Gmen got Burress at the perfect time IMHO ...they had the best of him and the rest is downhill.

Yeah, Im concerned more about T2 and Ross being re-signed. ...I think Jacobs best years are behind him too. Hes been steadily declining. Ive always been a fan of his, but his running style and size have caught up to him. Problem is... Bradshaw/Ware/Scott... there isnt really a change of pace back in there. It doesnt fill me with confidence if thats what the RB depth chart looks like.

Manningham will cash in... he's been great too, and obviously Giants fans will never forget the "the catch" ...in the same way we'll always love David Tyree. That said, the draft class has a lot of talent at WR.

You're right though.... Reese has his work cut out for him.

Eli Manning Reworks Giants Pact for Cap Space, Star-Ledger Says

    By Erik Matuszewski
March 8 (Bloomberg) -- New York Giants quarterback Eli
Manning restructured his contract for this season to help the
team try to get under the National Football League’s salary cap,
the Star-Ledger of Newark, New Jersey, reported.
The Giants were $8 million over the payroll limit and need
to get under the ceiling by the start of the new league year on
March 13 by releasing players or restructuring a big contract,
the newspaper said, citing NFL players’ union records. The
Giants cleared $6.75 million in salary cap space for the 2012
season by reworking Manning’s deal, the Star-Ledger said.
Manning’s new base salary for the 2012 season is $1.75
million, according to the NFL Players Association’s website. He
had been set to make $10.75 million, though the Giants have now
guaranteed $9 million of that, allowing them to spread the cap
hit over the final four years of his deal, the Star-Ledger said.
Manning receives the guaranteed money immediately.
Manning, 31, won his second Super Bowl title with the
Giants last season. He was named the Most Valuable Player of New
York’s 21-17 championship win over the New England Patriots last
    month.

Agreed...but I think its the right move.

What about a guy like Hillis? Coming off of a terrible season. Bruising back... huge upside but injury concerns.

I think JR has some plan because we really haven't resigned anyone other than 2 injured TE and practice players last I read. We still have to sign the following:

    T2
    Ross
    Manningham
    Tollefson
Along with a bunch of others.

We already let go of McKenzie and Jacobs and I can see more hitting the FA market.

Reports are Giants are currently looking at Tulloch so we will see what happens once FA begins.

As far as replacing Jacobs, Hillis is a BAD idea. That guy doesn't know what he wants to do, and he wants to be paid.

Not sure if we could afford Dallas Clark, but that would be interesting.
Clark would probably prefer to follow Peyton, though. And drafting a TE would be a lot more cap friendly. But I'd love to land him.

Everything I've heard is that Manningham is as good as gone. Which is unfortunate.

I don't really know how well Dallas would fit in, but would be interesting.
Manningham is said to be on his way to Tampa Bay
