I was thinking of picking up my step brother's round tail for a daily driver. Terrible idea?

I understand you completely. My Cortina is currently a rusty POS, but I get such a huge smile driving it.

Hipster. Your car appears to have been into rust long before rust was mainstream.

I'm guessing there are lots of issues that give your p-wagon character. Any funny ones like automagic slip shifting or flintstone floorboards?

Well now that you say that....

-the passenger side floor pan was missing welll rust was there and funny thing is that they require such thing for auto x. So until I can afford the proper sheet metal which is damn expensive we pop rivited a floor in.

    side note:
The checkerboard grill was done by my friends with duct tape when I was not with the poor car : ( hahha

Awesome. Next phase: BFG all-terrains, bull bar, skidplates, pirate flag, and more harbor freight lights?

So this POS, as you say, with a weakened structural integrity is roadworthy? Wow. Aren't there inspections in your state?

Im kind of thinking the same thing here. No floors and swiss cheese rockers makes a seriously weakened unibody. I wouldnt drive it without some seriously needed sheetmetal. I do like 2002s but yours needs some serious help.
You think you hate it now. Wait til you drive it.

The structural part behind the rocker panel "cover" is sold as anything. I am capable of jacking up the car on ANY of the proper surfaces with NO issues. The rear end of the car is solid, the front is great except for the quarters and lover portion of the front clip witch is not a structural issue. The major rust is with the two rocker panels and the passenger side floor pan which was temp patched for autox and passengers until I can afford the proper sheet metal. This is a hell of a lot easier than renting a trailer to get it everywhere. Also remember this is an east coast car that sat for a few years.

<3 Natural Speed Holes they are cheaper and lighter than CF. . . .. . just not as strong. But what hole is? : P
