Only way to do it. I find myself using Manual mode a lot more often. Even though I told the wife to take it easy on the car, I can't seem to stop.
1/4 tank lasted 40mi with her driving it "spiritedly". Usually lasts 75mi taking it easy.
Agreed. I love them on my GLI. I wish they weren't so damn expensive for the Golf platform. I hate getting in the R and trying to turn on the rear fog, and realizing that it's not there. I think it looks fantastic on CW cars as well. Just need to get a trigger wire and I'm golden.
I have an idea for my grill. Maybe you'd want to try it. At Advance Auto Parts (if you have that store around you), they sell a wheel refinish kit that's "Black Chrome". Comes with the primer, base, and clear. I was thinking of doing that. Not sure you'd be into it.
Took the R to the Wilkes-Barre area (where my in-laws live) today. About an hour and a half drive. We then went from there to the Bloomsburg area for family photos with the kids. On our way there, I start hearing a loud whine. Nothing felt out of place and we were late as it was so we kept going.
Get to the photographer's house and I pop the hood, to hear this:
From listening to other videos and listening hard, it sounds like the serpentine belt tensioner pulley is going bad. At idle it is very metallic and at highway speeds, the whine comes and goes.
Going to make an appointment for Monday. The car can sit until then.
The car is out of the factory 4 year/50,000 mile warranty by time (ended November 2011). However, I know that every vehicle has a certain amount of time, miles, and money available in Goodwill Warranty. Going to try to get that.
