I've kind of heard the same. Worse comes to worse I'll keep them until they start giving me issues and then decide what to do from there. Like I said the drivers side has been through the automatic no touch car wash twice and a week of pounding rain without a hiccup...so hopefully it stays that way. I went around the new light I just put in with silicone before I installed it so hopefully that fills any gaps left untouched by the manufacturer. Thanks for the comment BTW

Went through the car wash with the new light and all is good! The morimoto's provide a lot better light output also.

I mounted and balanced these yesterday. I'll put them on Friday along with the mud guards and tiguan center caps.

Also had to deal with this...K04 getting me in trouble.

Anyway, Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!

Steelies/Snows are on. Ordered USP Stainless Clutch line saturday along with Motul Fluid.

I like the "VW" emblem in your steelies. Can you provide a close up of it? The steelies on my FXT had no center cap and it always bugged me.

No problem! I seen the huge sale! I wish I was in the market for some of it, but not right now. I do plan on replacing the timing chain tensioner at some point. Not sure which one is in my car, but I figured better safe than sorry. The caps clamp on VERY tight, I was surprised also. I had it up a little over 100 and they are all still there..its a little sketchy with the snows though so I'll be limiting that.

Hope you guys had a nice Thanksgiving

VMR's are getting painted over Christmas, and I want some opinions on color.

1. I've wanted black wheels on this car since before I even picked it up. Most people won't agree with this, but BMP (black magic pearl) is option 1.

2. Either a bright gold (think sti), or a dullish brownish gold (think that crazy color in VMR's options, can't think of the name right now).

3. Same hyper silver.

4. Other

Ready...DISCUSS!

i would choose a color that offsets the car really well. the silver or the gold would look excellent, but a darker, duller gold. bright gold is too bling for my taste personally.

black wheels look like blobs of black sitting around your brakes, imo. its your car, if you want black then do black. but im not really a fan of black wheels. ha

Got a chance to wash the car last Friday while it was nice. Looked nice for 2 days, it rained, now looks like garbage again..

Started tearing this thing apart, which will keep me busy for the winter.

And got this last night on a little (100 mile) roadtrip after work. Cruise at 70. On the way to work this morning I had to get on it a little to make sure the turbo still worked, lol.

#778 ·
That was taking it pretty easy in my book. I just set the cruise on 70 and that was it, with a few 80 mph or so passes. It's not the K04 though, I didn't get any better with stage 2.

also get sunken treasure 710s; they'll look baller on your cw.
I'm thinking about it still. Not sure what I want to do.

#780 ·
Hmm. Do you have **** roads? Cause I cruise at 70 and get "34" which means like 31-32.

Man door hand hook car door
Cleveland roads are real terrible. But, I used to live in PA and the roads were 1000x nicer than they are hear and I still averaged the same. You should see what it is when I'm not trying to get good mileage. If I only drive the car to work and back (7 miles each way) and around town I can stretch a tank out almost two weeks...which equates to ~230 miles and 19-20mpg

Received this today

Also noticed this :banghead:

Car is already at the dealer. Hopefully getting fixed under warranty. I'm assuming its the water pump. If its not under warranty I'm going to pick it up and do it myself. I'm at 43000 miles so I'm covered by power train. We will see what happens.

#788 ·
Thanks

So was it the water pump?

And is the RSB installed yet? What's your insight on the upgrade?
That's what they said. Didn't get the car back yet though. Hopefully tomorrow. I've had the RSB installed since a week after I ought the car and its a great mod. I just got the FSB, but haven't installed it yet. Swaybars are a great handling mod!

Nice complete build!! How do you like your brake set up? Going ko4 this spring and ill need more stopping power. Would really like to get vwr big brake kit but a **** load of money. What kind of rotors u use? Would u change anything with your brake set up if you'd do it again? Sorry if all this has been answered in your thread, just didn't have time to read the whole thing. :)

The brakes work very well actually (at least until the esc cuts in). I actually have eBay drilled/slotted rotors, stop tech pads, usp lines, Tyrol sport bushings and will be putting in ate super blue fluid this weekend. For what the have to do I wouldn't change a thing and they work great! Thanks for the comments
