got the trans back together and back on the engine. engine is it. just gotta install axles and get it back on the ground this week. other than that its just the little loose ends... more updates to come.

holy cow lol. i havent had it road worthy for over a year now which is gettin old. but hopefully it will be running this season at some point. i was aiming for nxt weekend for a show, but there just seems to be too much stuff to do yet. im not really one to rush things so ill just aim for h2o haha. plus i wanna do some things to the new addition.

oh and just for the record while i was in the middle of heat wrapping stuff i decided to pull the return line off my heater core and guess what, i snapped that bitch off . so now its no heat and no ac. thank god its a summer car lol. just for the record tho if the car does go to h2o the heat will be fixed. just not high on my list right now.

alright so i just re-circulated the heater core lines for the time being. realized that after two cases of pabst the other day it is possible to put the a arms on the wrong side embarrassing, however i wasnt the one to do that... either way we realized they were wrong when the sway bar made contact with the axles. switched those over and got the front wheels on so the car is no longer on jack stands. gonna work on some more wiring and other loose ends tomorrow. if i get anything worth-while done ill snap some shots for ya guys...

so i got the car 99% back together. just missin the hood and gotta wire the fan control module, some things with the ms3, run the vac lines for the wastegate and boost controller. just minor things at this point i hope.

i may actually be takin the gti to the classics. got the car runnin today. threw in new fluids. took it for a couple tuning runs. gonna try to get it on a dyno tomorrow. if i can get it tuned it will be there. if not ill be down in my white mk2 wearing jorts, velcro shoes and white mid-calf socks haha prolly drinkin pbr too if im not in the gti lol

oh its on paul haha. i may send out some data logs this week. even if i cant get it on a dyno im still gonna try to get all the bugs worked out and try to get it to the classics.

im just on a 60/40 H&R cup kit. and no spacers on the car. thinkin about pickin up a set for the rear to get them to sit flush with the fender. however you may want to run 205/40/17 tires on them so you dont rub your fenders. unless you have them rolled. mine rub like hell at the moment. but im rollin my fenders soon.

walked out into the garage today and noticed a small puddle of coolant under the car. traced the leak back to the t-stat housing. pulled it off and found that not only is my gasket broken but it had been hastily installed with some sort of sealant prior to me owning it. gonna try to get that taken care of tomorrow and hopefully back together wednesday morning and get some tuning goin on. not really any kind of rush now that the classics are cancelled...

heres a little update for those of you following this. went to a local yard to get my needed coolant system parts and got what i needed. when i got home pulled the t-stat housing apart to put my t-stat in and found that the housing i got looked to have had overheating issues of sorts due to some melting inside the housing. went back to the yard to swap with the only other vr and when i pulled it found that it was cracked in two places. mine is only cracked in one. so tired of tryin to track down solid used parts and gonna just order them new tonight. figure i havent cut corners to this point why start now, its only money right? hopefully have the coolant system back in check by the end of the week. gonna try to get a fender roller this weekend and get that taken care of so i can save whats left of my brand new tires .

oh and it snowed last night and today kinda ridiculous considering i was wearing shorts and a t shirt two days ago but whatever. gonna try to get it on a dyno here soon so i can finish up the tuning and finally have this back on the road.

Gotta love the silicone moon-tune. My buddy's triumph had pretty much every gasket replaced with silicone when it got tore down... smh. Can't wait to see this thing back on the road.

I may have just missed them, but do you have any photos of your battery relocation? I took the tray out to paint it, and started looking at some ammo cans i've got laying around, and wheels started turning... Just trying to get some ideas on placement.

i dont not have any photos of the battery location, it was relocated to the trunk before i got the car. its not mounted down or anything, one of my plans is to do a rear seat delete and cage eventually so i can run new seats and harnesses. but anyhow my batt just sits in the spare wheel well. nuthin special right now.

so i ordered my parts and received them in a timely mannor thinkin i could have it running for tomorrow and be able to wash it and drive it, but when i went to install the t stat housing to the block i realized that the main gasket that was supposed to be included was not there whatever, still gettin the fenders rolled tomorrow...

got the coolant system back in check and the car is running, fenders were rolled today by (PA-TDI) he did a good job and now i have no more rubbing and also he is a pretty legit dude. found out that the neighbors arent fond of the exhaust on the car but its whatever. all in all it was a damn good day with some good friends, ill get some pics of when im not so tired.
