I pressed in X4 NEW wheel bearings this week
    Nothing pic worthy

    Todays plan:
I have yard work to do for a bit this AM
Then the FT strut towers/strut mounts get out
in prep for the camber plates that will b welded in
Ill have some pics of that process

I might even get the "A" pillar and halo hoops on the cage fully welded in this weekend

for a local guy... i work in Canton and use the 1/4 turn Swagelok valves and tubing benders on a daily basis.... The best quality components in the industry. They also have an awesome line of compression fittings you might wanna check out ... project looks good

If you just get the axles and no joints, The Drive Shaft Shop isnt incredibly bad. I forget what they quoted me once for an axle and it wasnt that expensive.
Of course it depends on how hardcore you want the thing to be.
Otherwise you could make them yourself like quite a few people on here have done. Make as in shorten some. Not sure if you need shortened or lengthened though.

    Functional and balanced and such
Using OE joints on modified/replacement centers shafts (for now)

Im NOT a fan of the make a shaft stuff that I have seen here on vortex
(im NO vortex pro so I may be missing some good links!)

I need to shorten X3 Factory shafts Varying lengths
The centers sections are tubes NOT solid like rabbit stuffs

    PS... Cannon's battery = charged

Why not just have the stock ones shortened and balanced? Seems like that wouldn't be terribly expensive...Debating the same thing for my syncro when i do the Haldex upgrade eventually

Why shorten all three when you can just section one to take the extra out of (or get made from scratch)? Seems like the best way to keep two stock and one modified. Unless you have a good reason to do so it's just more work than necessary IMO. Every single syncro/haldex swap that I have seen that needed the prop shaft modded was only done to one of the shafts.

side note: Any place that will make you one will still start with a tube and still weld on the end pieces from the factory tube for the prop shaft. This is not much different than what I have seen.

    jeff,

in the pic you saw, it was just a mock up.... the shaft was shortened about 4"s

but the plan is to have the Drive Shaft Shop make it using 4340 chromoly and should be good to 1000 hp.

if you are interested in one, maybe we can get them to give us a buy 1 and 2 beverages at regular cost and get the second shaft free.... then we'd split the cost and we'd both get double wallet raped...

    take care,
    nash

This is the current plan of attack
Shorten 3 of the 4 WHEEL Drive shafts

The front half and carrier will remain as is....

    I understand the "mocking"
I removed about 3.5" of the center my self
    4340 =
As for a "group" buy we just might be able to pull something off
