Who isnt going to RAPE my wallet???
Damn, raping of the wallet is no good! Progress looks good, taking your time and doing it right the first time. Its come along way since last year! I cant wait to see this thing on the road!
current: 2012 Golf R CW 4 door base, 2004 R32 Silver, 2003 4mo passat wagon, 1985 Golf vr6,
Of course it depends on how hardcore you want the thing to be.
Otherwise you could make them yourself like quite a few people on here have done. Make as in shorten some. Not sure if you need shortened or lengthened though.
Nash.... What did you do for the 4 drive shafts?
I saw the pic of the center and its shortening
Using OE joints on modified/replacement centers shafts (for now)
(im NO vortex pro so I may be missing some good links!)
I need to shorten X3 Factory shafts Varying lengths
The centers sections are tubes NOT solid like rabbit stuffs
PS... Cannon's battery = charged
Why not just have the stock ones shortened and balanced? Seems like that wouldn't be terribly expensive...Debating the same thing for my syncro when i do the Haldex upgrade eventually
Why shorten all three when you can just section one to take the extra out of (or get made from scratch)? Seems like the best way to keep two stock and one modified. Unless you have a good reason to do so it's just more work than necessary IMO. Every single syncro/haldex swap that I have seen that needed the prop shaft modded was only done to one of the shafts.
side note: Any place that will make you one will still start with a tube and still weld on the end pieces from the factory tube for the prop shaft. This is not much different than what I have seen.
£UK Storm AWD Rocco Project
in the pic you saw, it was just a mock up.... the shaft was shortened about 4"s
but the plan is to have the Drive Shaft Shop make it using 4340 chromoly and should be good to 1000 hp.
if you are interested in one, maybe we can get them to give us a buy 1 and 2 beverages at regular cost and get the second shaft free.... then we'd split the cost and we'd both get double wallet raped...
Shorten 3 of the 4 WHEEL Drive shafts
The front half and carrier will remain as is....
I understand the "mocking"
I removed about 3.5" of the center my self
As for a "group" buy we just might be able to pull something off
i thought people forgot about 4340!!
anyway..lookin better and better..i may be consulting you shortly as i am in need of awd...
but first..you..hawaii..we drink beers..do it.
