    PIE ALP/AI-POD Alpine Ai-NET to iPod Dock Connector Adapter

    At least that's how it's advertised on the internet...

    Will use the Alpine Ai-NET connector to allow you to interface your iPod with your Alpine head unit, and you can charge it as well! I no longer have an iPhone, so I don't need this.

    Is this for the older units before they were set up for iPods or is this the updated version that will charge the newer iPod/iPhone's?

    Yes, I had used it to charge my iPhone 3G before I went Android and needed a mini-jack input.
