Called around yesterday for some price quotes for install and setupprice's were a little salty to say the least. I dont have all the proper tools or a place to do the work or I would try doing the install myself.
If anyone would be interested in helping out with the install and has the means to do so that would be awesome. Im in the Central Pennsylvania (Hershey area) and would be willing to travel a little to get it done (Eastern PA/Northern Maryland areas). Would be a cool way to get to meet some fellow VW enthusiasts and also get to learn a little about my car with some hands on. And of course all involved would be greatly compensated with all the adult beverages and pizza you could handle.

I'm not sure how close/far you are from some of those guys, but I'd get at PSU/Kidversion1, etc.

Yeah there are a few vortex regulars within reasonable driving range including above mentioned. I may just buy the couple tools that I wouldn't have to get it done and and find a place to do it myself. I don't want to nag anyone or be an inconvince. Just might turn into a weekend project for me instead of a couple hours for someone that knows what their doing.

I'd be game for helping you out with any combination of KIDv1 (Christof) and PSU (Andrew). You're about 40 from me, an hour and 15 from Andrew, and an hour and half from Christof. I've done coilovers on MK3, and MK4, and from my experience, it is nice to have an extra set of hands available.

I'll get the word out and see what they say. You should make your way over to some of the regionals. Local guys usually try to find a way to get together for things. Plus the useless banter is great for a boring workday.

Hey bud,
My mom was looking at your Instagram the other day and mentioned you posted something about suspension install costs...
Please do not pay anymore than $200-300.
As Jeremy has stated, just get one of us to help you out.
You need a strut spreader and a triple square. The rest is just common hand tools.

Also, you do need an alignment afterward if you value your tread life.

Yeah it's been taken care of. Jeremy hooked me up with Christof who is going to be "rent-a-mechanic" for the install. Looks like its going to get done next Saturday down his way. Going to save me alot of $$$ which I'm greatful for.
Mama PSU lookin out haha I was so suprised when she sent me a Friendster on there. I just posted that cause I was shock by the price ( leaving th shops name nameless cause they post on here )
Definitely gettin alignment after everything settles. That was zimmy just being zimmy I assume when he said I didn't need one.
Anyways thanks for looking out man.

So you had this noise before you changed the pads and rotors and the dealership just changed your bearings and it still comes and goes? Sorry if you mentioned already, I haven't been following all the details and it wasn't clear to me if the dealer changed the bearings already.
Have you tried taking it somewhere else? My tech is usually great at diagnosing these things just from my descriptions even without hearing the noise himself.
If your gas cap light comes on even if you think you tightened the cap, try pulling on the cap as you tighten it. Worked for me.
Help us with suspension specs!

if I see you mention your tech in one more post today I will explode.
try me.
anywho,
nittany - mine was strange as well. noise would change when shifting.. dealer says its the cat/flex pipe and I believe them. They have been all over my car many times tracking down noises.
might be worth looking into if all else fails.
I have seen 4 posts this week alone about holes in cats/pipes.
I would have never thought this was the issue from the sound.

Kidv1 - don't think it sound like the video. Definitely think its outside the car.
AbeR - ill mention it to them when I stop tomorrow. Boy are they going to be happy to see me,not.
Slave - haven't taken it to any place else cause I'm still barely under warranty and the issues is documented while under warranty. My rotors needed changed soon at some point so the fact that I paid not a big deal. Wheel bearIng was covered no charge to me. So if they want to keep slapping new stuff on and it's not costing me then so be it.
