      Blacked out the VW emblem

And whited out the side markers. Just Krylon, nothing special. Eventually would like clears.

2 ignition coils went south on me. 32k on the GLI, dealer replaced them no questions asked. for Capistrano VW here in Socal.

Now I can focus on modding my car again. Bought this from ECS tuning. I always liked those little lip spoilers. Friend of mine bought some carbon to do a nice little wrap job, once I get it.

Has anyone installed one of these ECS Tuning spoilers, without painting it? I like the GLI body kit, I'm tempted to leave it unpainted to match the black plastic on the sideskirts, etc.

Such a clean car, don't ruin it with clear sidemarkers. Go color matched or OEM

Thought about going color matched, so I kinda did. I Krylon painted them white, they looked great for the past year but the sun discolored them a bit (stupid sun!). Also, I don't like the loss of functionality of the sidemarkers by painting them. Although the light still shines through, it's just dimmer, and you get the halo effect around the edges... I don't know. You can see the pic I posted previously in this thread.

I see plusses to both sides of the argument. It's super cheap to go back to OEM.

Front emblem had some major stone chips in my satin black paint job. Sprayed a coat of Plasti-Dip onto the emblem, it's drying now.

Hopefully it ends up looking the way I want it to.

I'm assuming you at least have a K&N intake or panel filter if you're reppin' the sticker? Lots of potential there (white mkv's with body kits are unbeatable imo) but in the meantime I would ditch the corny sticker. and I have the lip spoiler on my mkv and it gives it a real nice touch.

Just a K&N drop in filter for the stock airbox, nothing cray cray.

I like the sticker, TBH, but I'm sure I'll change it when I get bored.

      So don't worry.

meh. your going in the wrong direction fast.
Replica wheels are like fake boobs. They look good on the outside, but when it comes to quality, Nothing beats the real thing.

That ship has sailed, I already blacked it out last year. I'm simply re-doing it to cover up stone chips.

I hear you about the chrome jetta grille, but I won't be doing that. Already owned a 2.5, and the chrome grille is what I disliked the most. It does look good on CW versus platinum gray (the color of my old 2.5), but the big gaping black grill is one of the reasons I was attracted to the GLI. Also, it sets it apart from the hundreds of 20-something girls who drive white jettas here. Not sure where you live but in Orange County the white MKV jetta is the official "hot girl car" and I need to separate myself from that group!

      You spelled "you're" wrong.

All jabbing aside, what do you think I'm doing wrong, and what would you do instead?
