Yeah my girl drives it mostly and her commute is like 80miles a day. Bought it the beginning of December 2011 and by our 90 day checkup it was at 10k.

Did the front trim in Plastidip white and the VW black Plastidip

Looks great! Looking to do this myself but I was nervous to take the chrome strips off, thought they would break, how did you remove yours?

The anthracite goals to me always looked better than the silver ones. You should see the anthracites in person. I wish I had a better camera to do them justice

Installed my coilovers and Breyton GTS-AV wheels. I still need to level it out. Just waiting for it to settle a bit first.

Thx guys, I went with Megan Euro street coils. They came fully assembled with caster, camber and damper adjustments. The good thing was I didn't have to take the factory struts apart and mess with cutting bump stops. Now I can just throw the factory suspension back in when it's time to trade her in. For some reason everyone hates on Megan coils, I for one, love em!! The car handles great and was so easy to align with them being so adjustable.

Finally got an alignment after installing coils. So much better now and fixed my steering wheel issue.

Ordered some GLI side skirts and OEM aluminum pedals yesterday

How much did you pay for the side skirts?

I didnt take the chrome strips off. I just taped the honeycomb grille off. and sprayed with White Plastidip them then Glossifier Plastidip them to get a glossy look vs. the flat white. Plastidip is the only way to go with out removing the chrome strips. Very forgivable and easy to work with once you practice and look at the tutorials on dipyourcar.com. The GLI was just sprayed right on the car...taped off a rectangle space around it, spray and pulled the excess dip off.

The only emblems I removed were the VW on the front and back. I had to paint the background on the VW on the back to get the color just right (although the white plastidip + glossifier comes pretty close to CW).

Sprayed the VW emblems Black Plastidip + Glossifier. Looks really good IMO but I think black paint and clear coat might be the next step for me. Just didnt want to do anything permanent so I did plastidip for the moment. might pull them off later and paint them. But as far as the chrome strips im leaving them plastidip because i have no interest in removing them and potentially breaking them and not being able to find replacements.

I am doing the same right now. I have a couple extra sets of the badges so I am using the matte black ones right now. I have a set being painted as we speak. I am doing gloss black and clear on the front VW and gloss black with candy white background and clear on the rear VW. I will pick them up this weekend and post some pics.
