Which set are you using for the GLI, is it the #MR-CDK-GOLF5 set? I'm probably gonna jump from my Passat to a GLI in about a month... Will probably drop the suspension, and hold off on the chip for a few to 6 months or so...

Damn if i would of tried that would of saved $30 bucks but i bought a set and is in now. THanks anyway i should of posted before buying it but i was just frustrated and wanted the damn tool to work on it lol.

the left front camber isnt THAT far out... the rear axle is what looks damaged

Yeah it was done in Lafayette as its the closest VW dealer to Ft Polk. My rear axle is still on the right side of the car instead of centered. The front, well thats beyond me... i think the impact from the left rear transferred through to the right side and up front. the left rear inner rim was bent and the trailing arm crumpled. but now i have a flat spot on the right side rear tire that is on the front now. i think its from them sliding the car off the flatbed with the ebrake on or something.... i need new tires on the right side anyways. but yeah the guy who runs the alignment machine said he could get it "aligned" but it still wouldnt be within specs. He said hed rather not because he felt it needs to goto a frame shop and be straightened out. so yeah.... I knew what he meant, and he said its bad when you can visually tell the axle is NOT centered on the car....

I finally got around to tinting the windshield 35%. The rest of the car is 15%.

Without seeing the car I obviously couldn't know for sure but I think a bent frame is the least likely problem. I've put a rear axle in mkvi jetta before that was seriously mangled and everything lined up fine. The trailing arms on the axle are considerably weaker than the mount points. I've seen lazy alignment people blame bent frames on many occasions where it was not the case. My geuss is the problem still lies in the suspension. The mounting points could be bent but that doest necessarily mean your frame is "bent" like you would imagine when someone says that. Again I haven't seen the car but it's just something to consider so no one gives you the run around.

Thx bro, get a good quality glaze and polish the crap out it first. Then throw a couple of good coats of wax to seal it up. The glaze will make it pop!

But there's a line called an "AS1" line you can do that allows a visor sort of look about 3.5-4 inches from the top down of the windshield.

i used glossy sticky car vinyl, it was maluable cheap and easy to cut, blends right in.

dope trunk floor.. i'm thinking of doing the same to my car except with leather wrapped floor and my sub coming out of the floor with the sub box in the spare tire well.. was the wood floor worth it.. any tips on building it.. any rattling.. any more detailed posts of it?

Because doing the windshield, especially that dark is quite dangerous and expensive ~ cost of material + cost to install + cost of ticket = waste of $ because it's going in the trash.

I'd like to just see how long it lasts. Im registering it in Florida soon, so that takes care of the rest of the windows. I have a doctors note for photophobia (eye sensitivity to light) so I'll see what that does for me with the windshield.

And be careful using that note to get out of a ticket, if you run into the wrong cop he will have your license pulled and then it will be very difficult for you to dispute the fact that you have a problem with your eyes and its really not that bad driving in the day time. All in all, it's not worth the trouble. IMO, that's my 2 cents.

Photophobia isnt a fear of light, its sensitivity to bright light (as in eye strain, squinting, watering). You can actually get a certification from the DMV here in CT for darker tints than whats normally legal if you have it. I'll admit that doesn't include the windshield, but I like the look enough to take the chance here. I can still see fine out of it at night too.

1. Disabled horn on lock
2. Enabled "tear drop" feature
3. Enabled window controls with key fob
4. Enabled warning flashers on emergency braking
5. Enabled MFSW (for when I get it)
6. Changed blinks to 5
7. Enabled all doors open one push key fob
8. Cleared an airbag code that I set when I removed the passenger warning light

Yes it works. I changed it from adaptation and not from the long coding. I think that may be the problem? The change was instantaneous as soon as I saved the change I pulled the washer and it worked.

I'll have to try that. I dont think i did it in adaptation. I was jealous bc my wife just got a 12 touareg tdi lux and there's so many vag options on that.
