Oh, and incase anyone is wonder, yes, the DRLs are orange. I hated the clear bulbs they had in there and I don't do the ricer blue crap.

No worries from me. I've been into Ve's since the 90s, back when the Mk3 was still new. I've had two Mk3s before. This is my first non Mk3 actually.

Yep, I bought it off the showroom floor with those wheels. Purchased during the ice storm the week of the superbowl. I wanted the silver Jetta with stock rims, but they didn't want to dig one out of the snow. So we worked a deal out on this one. Pin striping happen the next day. Did it myself.

Nope-- the fog lights are turned on only after the regular headlight switch is engaged. But I'm sure someone has figured a way around this...

Yeah, its called a European light switch, but haven't seen any for sale for the Jetta yet. Apparently the Golf/GTI/CC one is different, or so it says on ECS.

Anyone know the required maintenance schedule? I was looking through my manual, but maybe I seemed to miss it.

BTW - just picked up a 2011 Jetta SE in white gold metallic/titan black with convenience and sunroof. It is my first VW and I must say that I am very pleased so far. I'm glad that a community such as this one exists.

I checked and looks like you shouldn't have any problems with that long bulb. The only issue remaining is if it will trigger "bulb out warning" or not. I believe drls are excluded from that but i could be wrong. Good Luck

I'm looking to replace the DRLs & License plate bulbs in the rear of my wife's Jetta with LEDs. Should I be worried about check engine lights when replacing these? I've heard these German cars are a little more sensitive than others when replacing the bulbs with LEDs. Can anyone confirm this?

In your owners manual folder you should have a booklet that explains warranty and maintenance. All VWs (Except Routan) have a 10,000 mile or 12 month service interval.

I custom ordered this the new 2011 SEL Jetta. Not going to have it until April probably (ordered it end of December). Got mine without the Sunroof and Sportpackage.

I have a couple of questions I'm looking to answer:
- Clear Bra. I'm planning on having one mounted in the front and on the mirrors.
Anyone have any recommendations for a particular brand?

- Engine coolant temperature. Unfortunately the new Jetta does not have a temperature gauge. Is there any other way to find out that information? Can you display it on that limited MFD?

- RNS 315. Where can you get the latest firmware update? Can you access any of the car computer options through this system, like though the MFD on the GTIs and other models?

Is there a way to customize the RNS 315 to for example show the GPS measured speed?

Is there VAG Com support for this model yet?
If so, would the "gauge needle sweep" be suppored? This is when you start the car and the rpm and speedometer needles sweep. I really think this is cool.

Pretty pumped for getting my 2nd Jetta.
