    thanks broski.
everything is there. or atleast i believe it is. im sure im missing a few odds and ends. well see.
i got a few months back. and was in storage at the other house.
we got it running, and drove it up and down the street. put some fresh cheveron 91 in it.
i went to start it yesterday, and nothing. no clicking, motor didnt even wanna turn over.
so im thinking the battery died.
im about to pull it out and throw it on the charger.

the only things that are bolted down are the sterring wheel, ebrake, shiftnob, and driver seat.
im gonna take everything out. and clean out all the dirt and what not.

a friend of mine convinced me to pull the motor and trans and clean the engine bay. i'll prolly end up shaving it clean and clean up and replace some/most wires and hoses while im in there.

sounds like a lot of work, I'd just put the interior in it and drive. you'll have enough **** to fix anyway.

Damn, I'm jealous! Coupe + Alpine White = Big Win.

Body looks to be in great shape. Interior work may be a little tedious, but I'd take that any day over having to mess around with rust and body work..

Those may be late Mk2 GTI seats...

    Good luck with it.

    ...

Let me know if you ever want to sell it!

    not for sale. haha.

is there anyway to check the seats to see if they are mk3 or mk2?

while cleaning the engine up a little bit yesterday i found out it has a 90Amp alternator.

a few friends and i rough inspection on the body, crawled under the car. looked at the inside of all the panels (the interior being out made that easy) and we couldnt find anything body damage. nothing major anyways. a few dings and dents here and there.

i know i need to replace all the strut bushing and bearings.

also it came with angle eye headlights. i think thats what they are called.
    sorry im a mk2 noob.
but the hav the black cross hairs.

also came with a set of oem tinted hella tail lights. i was told they are kinda rare.
a rear sway bar, extra muffler and a badgless grill with single rounds.

im sure theres a few other little goodies in the pile.

if anyways body wants to trade something for my taillights or muffler. lmk.
like i said befor, i need new strut bushing and bearings.

    thanks ya'll.
gotta go work on it now.

so i finally got around to working on it yesterday with some friends, and we took everything out of the inside. well, everything that wasnt bolted down anyway.

got the Dash, vents, gauge cluster, and center console in. lots more room in it now. haha.
the driver seat gots some kinda funny, racing like type of seatbelt.
    not the conventional 3 point.

battery is dead btw, wouldnt charge. pos.

the rear bench seat is in perfect condition. that was a nice surprise.
gonna bolt down the other seat belts tomorrow.

gotta find carpet and head liner.
still unsure if the door cards match or not.

any body wanna trade their mk2 GTI passenger seat for my MK3 passenger seat?

that's because that seat is from a later model with passive restraint belts which your 88 didn't get.

padding? that doesn't sound OEM, you should post a pic. maybe someone added the padding or it's an aftermarket belt.

here is the seat belt i was talking about.

im not positive about the straps, but they look like they route over the seat that way.
the rear has a buckle but ther is nothing in the rear to buckle it to.
