    Why you ask?

    1) Not worth our time

    2) You don't have the money to justify/offset the cost to ship

    3) Not wasting our days off going junkyard hunting for your benefit

    4) Think im rude? Then buy a plane ticket and come to germany and buy it yourself

    5) USPS will not ship bumpers from here back to the states cause they are too big.

Now if you want to come visit, come visit, kick it with some good people and an amazing scene.

I totally agree but on the other hand I have some buddies back in az who want sone parts that I'm going to track down fir them. Obviously the difference being that they are nit some complete stranger and understand that it'll
    A. Take time for me to get out and look for it and
    B. Take time for the item to actually get there.

But again they are friends of mine and understand that I can't just drop everything to go parts hunting for them. On the flip side they are sourcing a westy setup fir my jetta

But besides that I wouldn't or won't do it. Too much of a hassle to deal with people who dint understand that we cant just drop everything and tend to their needs. Granted I'm not in the military but I own my own business out here which is 90% of the time keeping me way busy, to were I don't have a lot of free time to go and search through junkyards. Just my .02 cents

I'm not in the military either, but either it comes in to the states with me in my luggage, or it will come in my container when I return. End of discussion.

I'm down to ship parts back, but people won't want to pay the price I am asking!

    ^^^ this

and quite honestly, without even knowing you, just because you came to germany, if you had some parts that you needed shipped back for you, i would have no problem doing it.

The real issue is lately we have had a rash of ppl who have wanted nothing more than for us to get euro parts for them and ship them back. Its costly and time consuming. Not saying i would not do it, but most the time ppl want bumpers... UPS will not ship it back to the states due to the size and weight.

    4) Well, then maybe I will.

Any suggestions for 2 weeks touring in October?

Am Rando, I am not sure if you have any knowledge of the reason for thi thread but we(Americans living in Germany) receive an enourmous amount of requested via threads and PM's for parts. It becomes annoying. shipping parts can be time consuming, a pain in the a** and also not 100% leagal so I can understand why some people here are not willing to do this. Some are fed up with the crazy requests. So please try to understand the reason for this thread!

I guess you don't realize 99% of the posters in here are US military?

They don't want to lose their APO privileges by using the mail for anything other than personal use.

Also, unless you're referring to WWI, there weren't many US Marines on mainland Europe in WWII.

99.9% of us are US Military stationed here in Germany.

    KTHXBYE!

And to be honest now, i feel my original post about this was a little harsh. Since i have been hitting the junkyards a lot lately, i really have no problem sending smaller sized parts back to anyone stateside... as long as they hook my wallet up a bit for my efforts.

I agree with the original post... please don't PM me.

But, when I find anything worth a damn in my hunts, they normally go in the classifieds.
It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

So this wouldn't be the right thread to ask is you could find me some mint vento bumpers to ship to new jersey? They have to be perfect; no scrapes or scratches, they also have to black. I don't want to spend more that $300 including shipping. As for the Marine comment. Some of us aren't the brightest bulb in the box however, we are the best non specop force in the US.

Everything except the Marine thing. I agree with the post because, if it where done legally once the parts got here and went through customs you would pay about the same as ordering from online sites.

Shipping a bumper is kinda out of the question right now

I'm working on something to ship a high volume of parts back but won't be ready for at least a year.
