go to the junk yard and take the rear struts from a MKII or MKIII hatch. Unscrew and take the mount balls too. (13mm wrench)

This is quite simple.. Take hatch strut and the 2 mount balls. All you need to obtain is 1 nut which will screw onto 1 of the the mount balls.

Pop your hood.. See the little rubber supports running along your fender screws? pull one out from which ever side you decide to use.. Once it is out, you can see how there is a tiny gap underneath where it was. You can now slide your 1 obtained nut into that space and screw in your ball mount (I grinded down the legnth of the threads)

remove the hood bolt which it reaches and the ball mount screws right in. Took my 15min total using a DIY with no pics and poor grammar/bad terminology.

Mine are a knockoff brand of JOMs. My brother bought them for me when I turned like 17 and they have been on the car since (from my old mk3 to my newer one). I repolished them about a year ago with some steel wool.

They have to. I know it doesn't say it, but I would find that really hard to believe
