    Motivation:

Plan: Round swap this weekend! Still waiting on the alternator. All because some dumba$$ lady at advance auto ordered the alt. for the convertible, even though i specifically told her hardtop. Should have it friday and get it back home for a quick teardown and put together

Finally got her home. Alternator came in a day early, had my boss call them and had it delivered to our shop. Got it on, she runs good again. My battery survived the mishap fortunately, it was a used optima red from advance auto lol.

    Couldn't wait to do this.

ET is 44, thinking 10mm spacer to get to 34, should fit tire wise since stock 14x6 et is 38.

Didnt measure the back yet, but i'll be making some spacers to go between the stub axle and beam to save a little money. Material and bolts will be way cheaper than regular wheel spacers.

    Round swap this weekend!

    Welp...

Pic of the damage from the tow back home, after the failed attempt to go to the great lakes gtg. Brackets inside the rails both bent because i didnt have my bumper on and that was the only thing to hook too some hammer-time fixed it though.

Had it all torn apart friday night. Got all the major expected patching done friday night too. Found how water was getting to my drivers side floor . rot through the raintray, inner dash, and inner fender well. Spent all day saturday on the core suppourt itself and got it together by 7:30pm. Drove it that night to go get some headlights. I have to get my bumper on yet and turn signals wired for it. Put it on just to see how it looked. I like it more with the bumper Lastly I have to find some plastic clips to mount the outer pieces of the grille.

Didnt get as many pictures as i wanted too, but oh well, got it all done so i can drive it. Gotta get that bumper on, those rigged turn signals are killing me

Please let me know how this works out. I'd like to do the same. I'd also be willing to shoot you some moneys if you want to cut me a pair

little update: started more bodywork in preperation for paint, getting better at welding!

I got called into the office at work (yikes!) turns out a flatbed driver wanted to talk to me haha. Found out i had the rabbit outside, and asked me if i was looking for any parts or anything. of course i said YES! He said his kid is getting rid of a rabbit just like mine, said it has a roll cage, turbo motor and stuff. checked it out friday looks pretty damn good! Still have to work out details, but me and another friend are splitting on it for parts. should have it by next weekend at the latest!

And for some laughs, mine next to a m3 we just finished at work.

Denifitely worth more than what we are paying! Joefightskittens is getting the motor and whatever else, i'm getting doors, hatch, wheels suspension, and other stupid stuff. not too worried about mine motor wise, just want it to look good. dumping all my money into the motor of my other car anyways.

Also parts car comes with a set of 20th anniversary recaros, just fronts i think.

doesnt look like that has a callaway turbo kit. looks to be a digi or standalone car with the fuel rail. callaway valve cover is sweet though.

edit: just looked again. looks to be a turbo g60. nice!. you putting that in the rab or is it going to the friend throwing down with you?

Awesome build! I'm excited to see where this goes. Do you still have your old grille or turn signals by chance?

still holding on to the grille and turns for now, might be trading them for other parts from a local member.

So I finally got the ball rolling on getting the parts car payed for. Set up a time to pay the guy yesterday, i get halfway out there in the rabbit, and out of nowhere it backfires and shuts off. couldnt get it started again. Got it towed home today. Its not getting spark, replaced everything except the ignition coil since it was due for it anyways. thinking thats gotta be it. Big thanks to Joe who drove out in his cabby to give me a hand!

So i figured while its down for the weekend, i might as well replace the rear lower panel. Got it all cut out tonight, welding it in tomorrow, then hitting up a local gtg

Long time no update! Soo after this happened ^^ It went a couple places, and after a lot of headaches, i got it back last monday with a new hall sender. Runs just like it did before.

On the way to the garage after being at my place for a week. It just barely fit on the tow dolly. there was about an inch of clearance between the subframe and the dolly lol.

When i picked it up: Caddy is for sale, but pretty beat. Didnt ask how much he wanted...

    At work again finally!

Me and my buddy cruised out to pay for our parts car, and we found this for sale on the way! diesel, runs on vegetable oil.

Got this welded in while i was trying to figure out what was wrong. Got it fiberglassed today. Little more arch work to do and some dents to fill then its getting painted!

Got the ball rolling on a reliable car once i realized i dont have a real DD. I have 2 projects, and both of them didnt run once the rab broke lol. Ended up with this thing...

you could probably sell that valve cover off your parts car for more than you paid for the whole car wish i could find cool parts like that up here..

yeah, that was a lucky find for sure!

So i've been transferring and pulling parts lately. got the coils wheels, bumpers, dash, and other small stuff.

Did the dash swap into mine tonight since mine was horrible.

Also did some painting over the past weekend

Then drove it around a little

Currently working on the bottom of the hood, and more bodywork

    Not sure on the plastics..

And the current parts car. with my stock suspension and winters. Ready for the motor to be pulled

    To do's:
    Swap hatches
    swap door panels
    finish filling dents and spotprime
Get whole car edged in at home and then paint at buddies house!

Also trying to move some parts out of the garage.

Hey that's okay, I'm sure I can find them somewhere. Hopefully they're not too pricy ha.
Anyway, the car's looking tip top, great job man.

edit: Yeah looked them up and they're not for radial tires.. hrm, so guess I'll have to find actual white walls. New craigslist search!
