I did a group buy with a few Corrado buddies on the RSD hoodlift, HOOOOORRRRIIIIBBBBLLLLEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! First off, the hardware rusted in like a day & fitment was a joke! I sent them all back for a full refund from TM

I do not know why you need the resistor, possibly like something I have built on my board, but I did not solder anything on my MSExtra card, dunno with VEMS, what did the rep (Kevin?) say?

post up when you find out because i have the same issue. Connected the VEMS right to g1/ something i forgot right now but when is started car up, i had to no tach signal either.![]()

its possible...and yes it is a 0.5v
Just looked at the wiring spreadsheet i have and my VEMS is channel 0 as well and goes to g1/12. But it does not say if its a ground trigger or a .5v, so i couldn't verify that for you. sorry.

Why didn’t you get one from Kevin, yeah you probably got it a few bucks cheaper but his support and basemaps he supplies are well worth it. Should go back to your VEMS dealer and ask questions.Didn't talk to Kevin. I used a different dealer but will try to get in touch with Kevin.

Thank you, I don't doubt kevin's support is great. My good friend @ EP Racing is a VEMS distributer with basemaps as well. Who got me everything, yes for a great price, less than most pay for MS and made my whole wire harness for me for next to nothing.... VEMS does offer great support in there forums. I am waiting from Rob @ VEMS for confirmation to sign up as they closed open registration. My friend said he is sure he can figure it out, just thought I'd ask here first incase someone ran into this problem already.![]()

Damn man, sucks this happened
My brother had a crank pulley bolt snap on his 1 week of driving his recently acquired MK3 Golf - luckily he didn't bent any valves and we had a spare crank so...
Hope its not a very big damage...

So, motor was totally locked. Steps taken:
1) Remove timing belt, top end was free.
2) Intermediate shaft was free.
3) Bottom end would not budge.
4) Drop oil pan, pieces everywhere.
~wait pieces are plastic! WTF!?
~wait where is the oil baffel? up in the crank!
5) Remove oil baffel, millions of little pieces.
6) Motor still no budge.
7) Loosen rod bearings, motor now moves.
8) plastic pieces in oil journals of crank.
9) remove rod caps. oil starved and spun bearings.
Crank seems pretty bad, don't think emery is going to clean it.

That Sucks... That crank is DONE.
why did the oil pressure drop causing the rod bearings to fail.
I would use the aftermarket windage tray/oil pan gasket and ditch the oem baffle.
Also a great idea to lock tight the oil pump bolts.
Looks like you are looking for another crank and rods?
block and pistons should be OK.... Sucks you gotta tear it all down and start again.

Everything came together pretty good. Metal baffel is now installed along with new rod bearings. She lives again!
