No major updates, took my old wheels to my old work and beed blasted them and painted them. Just to hold me over till I get some new wheels. Old ones were looking pretty shabby!
Before:
Blasting:
Done Blasting:
Center caps were the worst:
Painted wheels:
Not perminant but will hold me over, wheels are low on the priority list right now...

Well, had to work all weekend so only got about an hour to work on this thing the whole weekend. But I was able to get the quaife ready fro install...
And the old open diff goes on the shelf of all the things to get thrown out once this build is complete...
Will start reassembly on trans this week.![]()

Do you have any pics of the female spline for the PS drive flange? A buddy of mine wrecked his C, I was helping him put it back together and that spline was gone...

I snapped some quick shots of the spline, both passenger side and drivers side are the same...
Didn't know if you knew or not, don't want to undermind you...., but the splines can be "off a tooth" and the two splines won't line up in the diff. Happens sometimes if you pull both pucks out of the trans. They can spin, one can fall out.... etc.
Here is kind of how it goes together....
One on both sides
Then spin it 90 degrees...
Make sure both sides line up properly out the ends...
Nice thing about the Quaife, you don't have this "open diff" problem...
Hope this helps....

The Aprillia SVX
The pit bikes, both honda fifties. Red one has the 75cc kit on it. Green one has the 88 kit

Back to the Corrado...
Took the Girling 60s off the shelf today, still need much needed cleaning and painting...
A little comparison to the 54s...
I think the increased surface area of the pad alone is worth it, let alone dual piston!

Got to work on the trans for an hour today.
Checked the new quaife with a dial indicator. Stock shim in my trans was 35 thousands. Diff measured 20 thousands, plus 15 from vw for preload. came out to a 35 thousands shim! Guessing no shim work because it's a Quaife?
Started getting her back together, one more day:
And the bolts for this thing sucked!

A few more things got done today. Finished assembly on the trans and installed ARP rod bolts, since we are going way past the 14.7 lb mark that digi 1was limiting us to. Thank you VEMS
.
Stock vs ARP:
Pan back off, forgot to weld the fitting for oil return anyways. So a win win

Just flipped back thru the thread, first off, slap some paint on that trans
And what are you planning for venting the head? Staying with dizzy spark too? are you not planning to run the CPS? Or can you run them reversed, dizzy signal to identify cam, separate sensor to identify crank? Not sure how VEMS does it...
I've just been interested in how to get a cam sensor as I am not running a dizzy, there is an interesting read in the 16v forum![]()

Got some black paint, waiting for some warmer weather. Past couple weeks have been in the 30s up here.
I have an aluminum fitting for the valve cover, but suck at welding aluminum. So once we get the car down to my fabricator he is going to remove the valve cover and weld on the fitting for a vent tube to go to a catch can.And what are you planning for venting the head? The dizzy was the original plan for the "daily driver" when i was staying digi 1. Now I am going VEMS with a block off plate and bosch coil packs. Which is all ordered and on the way, should have it this week. I'll be sure to post pictures...
I have totally over looked this, but as soon as I do a little research and figure out what I'm going to do I'll be sure to let you know. Two fold, I'll be loooking for your opinion on the solutionI've just been interested in how to get a cam sensor as I am not running a dizzy, there is an interesting read in the 16v forum![]()
