    First time shooting with my new 50mm 1.8G (got earlier that week).

    great shots, I want that lens. 50mms are relatively cheap aren't they?

    Depends. I bought a Canon 1.8 and it was about ¼ of the cost of a 1.4. I love that lens, but I never seem to use it at car events. I might have to in the future after seeing these shots.

    This one was the new release, 1.8G, that replaces the 1.8D. The D is like $140, the G was $220. Now if you go 1.4, your going to double that.

    Depends. I bought a Canon 1.8 and it was about ¼ of the cost of a 1.4. I love that lens, but I never seem to use it at car events. I might have to in the future after seeing these shots.
    Yeah, had never really thought about it either but was like what the hell. Think they turned out alright, but it's def. a little bit of a task to shoot with a fixed lens at a show due to having to move around all the people and other cars to get the object in frame.

    yeah I shoot nikon, I found some on bhphotovideo for cheap. I see how it would be a pain shooting with it at a show. I'd be nice to have 2 cameras ready with the 18-55 and the fixed lense.
