Kind of a shot in the dark here but...

Does anyone know how to remove the dome light/homelink overhead console on the Mk2 TT?

I am fresh to this platform and I don't want to go prying on anything (Just got the car Saturday)
But I am dying to get my radar detector hardwired in like I have on my other vehicles. And the best looking/easiest way is to tap into the overhead console switched power supply. and tuck the wire out of the headliner like you see in all the write ups. Now i just have to figure out how this thing pops out.

    Thanks in advance guys!

You might have better luck asking here:

They've had the TT-RS for quite some time and I'm sure someone has hard wired a radar detector. I'll need to know this too, as it'll be a gift to myself at the beginning of the year once my tax return comes in.

Old thread I know, but, I was looking for this information and found the answer here: http://ttrs.ca/electrical/radar-detector-redline/ so I thought I'd post.

While we're on the subject, would swapping the bulbs in there for a cleaner/whiter LED cause a bulb-out error?

If accessing it is as easy as the link, I'd like to do the swap but I'm not going to bother if I have to drop $30 on special LED-and-hardware kits.
