That was the best episode to date! The music at the end was perfect for the scene.

Was the last one the season finale?? We caught up this weekend... the last two episodes were *really* good... maybe the best couple hours of TV I watched this year. If it was the finale.. thats a helluva cliffhanger for next year. Hopefully it gets picked up.

The show definitely got better as the season progressed. I'm glad they decided to have an over arching storyline instead of a "person of the week" format implemented over the first few episodes.

It's just the holiday hiatus - hardly anyone shows new episodes until after New Year's, some try to hold out for February sweeps. Actually, I'd worry a bit about a network show running new eps right now, as that has a whiff of "burn-off." Grimm and Once Upon a Time come to mind...

Yep, and I've got some misgivings. They brought back the political fixer to help with a case, which was cool, but they seem to be setting up a rival for Finch in a "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" mode (amoral goth genius hacker chick). Since I loathe Lisbeth Salander, that direction doesn't work for me.

For a moment, I thought that fixer chick was also the rival hacker.

I thought the same thing; is it not? I bet it is the woman Reese was in the CIA with.

Just because she's a sophisticated hacker chick, what makes you think that there's any resemblance beyond that to Lisbeth?

Black nail polish when they showed her typing, and in one of the rear shots of her on the phone to the assassin I thought I glimpsed a neck tattoo. And it's a tv show type thing to do - emulate a character or plot line from pop culture, especially movies. Heck, look at the main plot of the episode itself - I was actually frustrated with Reese when Finch had to explain that the NOTW (Number of the Week) was being framed. Did he not see "Eagle Eye" with Shia LeBouf? Read "Point Blank" by Stephen Hunter? Heck, from what they've intimated, Reese use to do those type of jobs himself. Even before I heard the e-mails had been planted, I knew the notwah's first name was Patsy.

I think the introduction of the rival hacker is just what this show needs. I liked the ending. "...Harold." ...good stuff.

I like the episodic nature of the show, but some recurring rivals would be nice. The hacker for Finch, and Enrico Colantoni's crime boss for Reese.

Finch's past is starting to unravel. Should be interesting in the coming episodes.

Yep, thats what I was thinking. Otherwise the formula gets a little monotonous.

I like what they are doing w/ Harold too.

    Another solid episode

I'm guessing for the season finale, Reese, Finch, Carter and Fusco will bud heads with the FBI, CIA and HR. I think Reese's CIA partner will play a key role in the finale.

    Ditto that!

It has been consistently better each ep with the characters getting more complex.

Man the last few episode were so good. The girl was hot! Also notice a subtle detail when John was moving through the corridors with his weapon up.. he held the gun with two hands, but shifted it to the left and right hand without moving the arm, to aim at different directions. Just another detail to show his special forces skilled to fire with both hands.

Meh, I'm part of that salty online community of fans - CBS stopped posting the eps on their web site around the time they decided to keep the show, so I didn't see the last five eps or so. They used us to pump its numbers and dumped us when we made it a hit...

This show got better with every episode. Loved the episode with John's ex-girlfriend and his connection to Finch... and the finale was great. Root... I like her as their nemesis. Really looking forward to this returning.

Since CBS pulled the show from their web site, I didn't get to finish Season One until this week.

How was the season premiere (The Contingency)?

Haha yea it did. This is one of the best shows we watch.

One other thing I loved- every other show we watch resolved their season-ending cliffhanger in the first episode. POI didn't, what a relief.

    Anybody still watching?

The show is still runnin' on all cylinders. Wasn't a much of a fan of the episode with the quirky social network millionaire. But the series still keeps me tuning in on Thursday nights.

I was psyched that Root is back . Last night's episode was interesting in that it focused on a new character (Sarah Sashi). Hopefully we'll see more of her.
