thanks guys. Has anyone had issues with these SRI bolt holes lining up? The bolts that go into the head go in, but they seem a bit off. I have thought about drilling out the holes to a larger diameter if this becomes and issue.

I got some updates. Ive been busy.
Some orders that came in last week.

I got some parts this weekend. Bosch 044 fuel pump, fuel filter, fittings and 60# injectors.

    went from this

    To this

    To this

    To this

All the interior electric works except the power windows. I must have missed something somewhere. I got an appointment with the fabricator in two weeks for intercooler piping and some misc. welding bits that needs to be taken care of. Hopefully I can turn the key in 3 weeks.

The glovebox stands alone! minus one screw.

Any more info on that chromoly crossmember? I noticed you and vwflygti have made them up. Any specifics on how they were done/ the advantage of it?

The reason I chose to go this route with the crossmember is for rigidity. I dont think the stock crossmember was designed to handle 500+hp, and the last thing I wanted is for the motor and trans to be flopping around. Thats when things start breaking. (axels, mounts, etc) I also have a forward trans brace that will go down to the crossmember. This way there is a solid mounting point for the trans brace as well. Plus going this route gave me some options for mounting awic heat exchanger, awic pump, and rad. As far as the specs the chromoly is super beefy. Im trying to remember but im pretty sure its 1/4" wall tubing. Stuff is crazy expensive. There are also chromoly gussets that were installed on the 90* corners that arent shown in the pic. I will have better pics of everything today. Stay tuned for the chromoly awic core bracket.

Nice. I was going to suggest that , but figured this was an in progress pic. There was also a guy a few years back who made a front cross member out or a single piece of large diam CRMO tube that was super nice. Always love to see good fabrication.

So far I am just having some issues connecting my laptop to ecu. Serial to usb driver error. With that being said I cant get in to see whats going on. A friend of mine has the driver so he should be able to set me straight later tonight. On another note, these little pieces of awesomeness came today.

Success!! I finally got to take her out for the first time in 9 months. Very pleased so far. It sounds absolutly amzing. The past couple weeks have been hell. Surge tank had a pin hole leak, fuel pressure issues, fuel gauge read 1/4 tank but it was totally empty( so I thought one of my fuel pumps died cause the 044 is loud allready but it makes some crazy noises when you run outta gas, lol), more or less just one little thing after another but I guess thats what you call "working out the bugs."

Very impressed with these spal fans, a little loud but man do they move some serious amounts of air. I have been sending kevin black data logs and trying new maps so hopefully I will be getting into some boost soon. Here is another cell phone video clip after I got it running correctly.
